World of Chelsea on a daily basis. Picking out the bits and pieces on YOUR Chelsea club, the greatest ever club, even through the early 80s and 90s and the late 70s (snigger). COME ON CHELSEA!

Chelsea announced today that 'keeper Petr Cech has signed an extension to his current contract which will keep him at The Blues until 2010. This follows 'the second best 'keeper in the Premiership' Carlo Cudicini signing his contract to keep him at the Blues until 2009.

Cech said "I am very pleased. When I joined Chelsea I just wanted to get in the team and win some trophies. I managed that last season and have been rewarded with a new contract already. Now I want to win some more trophies."

Peter Kenyon commented after the signing, "We are obviously delighted that Petr has committed to Chelsea for another two years until 2010. He had a fantastic season in his first year and established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the world. It was always our intention to keep him for longer than his initial contract as he has a key role to play in the long-term development and success of the team."

Reserve striker Joe Keenan has gone out on loan to Dutch club Willem II for the rest of the season after impressing on trial. Joe's move follows other loanees Anthony Grant (Oldham Athletic) and Filipe Morais at MK Dons. Willem II are in the city of Tilburg and are 2nd from bottom in the top division. I know that Grant is doing well at Oldham. The fans have taken to him and he is doing well. Although when Oldham got beat at Huddersfield last Saturday, he started on the bench.

Frank Lampard has been voted by England fans as their Player of the Year for 2005. The poll run by the FA throughout January saw Frank beat Liverpool's Steven Gerrard and Man Utd's Wayne Rooney. Frank polled 29% of the vote. Gerrard got 18% and Rooney 16%.

Chelsea TV will be showing the Macclesfield Town FC fund raiser at Moss Rose next Tuesday 7th February. Due to FA Cup replay commitments, Dennis Wise has had to pull out of the game (the man scored last night for Coventry). Gianfranco Zola WILL be there and for those attending the game you can be sure the man will treat you not only with his footballing skills but with his humanity and respect.

Other ex-Chelsea stars 'signed' to play are Mark Hughes, David Speedie, Gustavo Poyet, Kevin Hitchcock and Graeme Le Saux.

Finally. Chelsea rejected a last minute deal from Manchester City to take Shaun Wright-Phillips back on loan to the City of Manchester Stadium. Although Shaunie hasn't had the greatest of impacts at The Bridge this season, he is obviously in 'The Special One's plans.
