Academy Fight Back from 2-0 Down!

Football Icon winner Sam Hurrell, the Chelsea fan, made his third full appearance on Saturday as the Academy took on the Lions Academy of Millwall.

The Academy came from two goals down to draw the game 2-2. Millwall took the lead on thirty minutes and then scored their second just after half-time.

Academy coach, Brendan Rodgers explained the two conceded goals, "We allowed their guy too much space in the box," and the second, Rodgers said "That was poor defending at the back post from a corner."

Although the Academy were under strength from the start, Rodgers made changes at half-time and the boys responded. Nano Ofori came on for Harry Worley, Ferreira was pushed forward to the front point of the diamond and scored the Academy's first of the game and Liam Bridcutt who was pushed back scored the Academy's equaliser with twelve minutes to go.

Rodgers was beaming about the comeback. He said "It was a good result considering we were 2-0 down and some of our better players were not playing. The comeback showed the tremendous spirit we have in the group."

The Academy's next game is against West Ham at Cobham on Saturday 11th February, kick off 11pm.
