Chelsea Football Club announced today that the parade of celebration for the team winning successive Premiership titles and not forgetting the Community Shield, will take place next Sunday May 14th commencing at 1pm.
The route of the parade will be exactly the same as last years with the starting point being at the Britannia Gate, turning left into Fulham Road, turn right into Hortensia Road, then right into King's Road, forward into New King's Road before stopping at Eel Brook Common for speeches and congratulations. The parade of two open top buses will end at Parson's Green.
Jose Mourinho said on the announcement of the news, "The parade is a great chance for us to say thank you to our fans for all their wonderful support this season. Winning the Premiership in successive seasons is a fantastic achievement by our team and not all of our fans can get to Stamford Bridge for matches but they can come to the parade.
"Last year’s event was a fantastic party for families and supporters of all ages and I am sure this year will be the same. Everybody is welcome."
There will be a large screen on Eel Brook Common, set up by Hammersmith and Fulham Council (LBHF), to provide entertainment for the large expected crowd including live coverage of the parade as it winds its way through the borough.
The trophy parade at the end of last season attracted a crowd of over 250,000, I suspect this time it will be much much more. Last year was great fun and yours truly will be there with the rest of the clan and it is my mission to get some quality pictures to make up for those that I lost last weekend at the title presentation game against Man Utd.
COME ON THE CHELS!!
