Chris Greenacre signed for Tranmere in July 2005 from Stoke City.  After playing on the right wing for Stoke in an injury plagued spell at the Britannia Stadium, Brian Little gave him the chance to play up front again.

 

In his first season at Rovers he made himself a hero as he bagged 18 goals to keep Rovers in League 1 with often little service from a poor Rovers team and this year he will be hoping to improve his tally with some better service. 

 

Having started his career at Manchester City, Greenacre banged in the goals for Mansfield before moving to Stoke City where his career was affected by injury and being played out of position prior to a move to Tranmere that proved successful.
