Steve Davies came to the fans' attention when playing in Tranmere's pre season campaign in 2005. He scored twice against Vauxhall Motors and the winner against Manchester City before scoring another against Crewe. This excellent run of form earned Steve recognition enough to be on the bench for most of Tranmere’s matches last season. He made his debut for the first team away at Scunthorpe in the league cup first round.

He is a young striker who has also played wide left, has a lot of pace and a great left foot. In his first season as a professional he scored just 2 goals but most of his appearances were as a substitute. His goals were both in matches that were won by Tranmere – his first in the 2-0 defeat of Doncaster away from home and his first league goal at Prenton Park was in the 3-0 win against Port Vale.

He has been at the club as a trainee since he was 14 and has developed rapidly into a first team contender.
