Gaffer's Verdict!
"I was a bit disappointed in the first half performance. It was a great free kick from Shukes, it was about time! That one has been coming. But that was the only shot we had in the first half and that's what disappointed me.
"Chris has practiced a load of those and they were flying in in training yesterday. We now need more in general play. But I've said to him, I don't care if he doesn't score for us. If he's making them and we're winning games, I couldn't care less whether Shuker got ten goals or two goals. It's about winning games and who scores doesn't matter.
"But overall we just about shaded it. It was a battling gritty performance. Late on we used the ball well and made them work, I just wish we'd done it earlier. There's plenty of work still to be done. We need to move the ball quicker and play at a higher tempo.
"It was difficult for the two strikers today, I didn't really see them as an attacking force. Hopefully Gareth Taylor will be back on Saturday and improve us in that department. He's going to see a specialist on Wednesday and if he gives Gareth the all clear then it's up to him. If he says he's fine, then it's up to me to decide whether he goes on if he stays on the bench and comes on."
