Rovers Sign Thompson From Rivals Forest!

Tranmere have signed Nottingham Forest defender John Thompson on a month long loan deal as cover at the back following an injury to regular right-back Robbie Stockdale. Thomspon is expected to go straight into the starting eleven for Saturday's home game against Bournemouth.

Rovers have today announced the temporary loan signing of Nottingham Forest defender John Thompson.
The 25 year-old joins the Whites following a hamstring injury to regular Rovers right-back Robbie Stockdale that will keep him out of action for around a month.
Thompson has already featured in this season’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy for Forest and as a result will be unavailable to play for Rovers against Darlington next Tuesday. However, Forest have given permission for him to play in Rovers first round FA Cup tie on 11th November provided Rovers and Forest are not drawn together.
John has made over 100 career appearances for Forest including ten already this season. He has also been capped once for his native Republic of Ireland.
Thompson will wear the Number 14 shirt and is expected to go straight into the starting eleven for the home game against Bournemouth on Saturday.
