Tranmere extended their unbeaten run to six games with a thoroughly deserved point at the Withdean. Its now 4 wins and 2 draws in the last six games for Ronnie Moore's men. The defences were on top and few chances were created. Rovers stayed 6th and gained a point on Walsall who are in 5th.

Rovers team was unchanged again so Zola and Moore continue upfront with Chris Greenacre on the bench.

In the opening minutes both teams had half chances, Myrie-Williams shooting wide for Rovers and Bowditch wasting a one on one chance at the other end.

A few goalmouth scrambles were to follow in the Rovers area but the defence denied Brighton a shot on goal.

Ian Moore then headed straight at Kuipers in the Brighton goal.  On 33 minutes it looked to be 1-0 to Brighton as Murray headed in, but the referee pulled play back for a push in the build up.

At the end of the half Myrie-Williams and Taylor both forced corners for Rovers, but they were wasted.

Half Time : Brighton 0-0 Tranmere

Early on in the second half Bowditch tested Coyne who parried to Forster whose effort went behind for a corner. C ox delivered the ball in and Antony Kay was there to clear Andy Whing's header off the line.

Myrie-Williams and Sherriff both had chances at the other end and it was a fairly even game.

Cox then curled a free kick wide and at the other end Zola shot wide from twelve yards before being replaced by Chris Greenacre for some fresh legs upfront with seven minutes remaining.

In the dying seconds from a Brighton set piece Mayo powered in a header and a decent save from Danny Coyne kept it out.

Full Time : Brighton 0-0 Tranmere

Man of the Match

Shane Sherriff

On a night when no-one particularly stood out for Rovers, Shane Sherriff stuck to his task and did very well on the left wing.
