Rovers Host Seasiders in Pre-Season Game

A second friendly game has been reported for Rovers as they are reportedly set to host Championship side Blackpool at Prenton Park in the first week of August. The announcement of this game follows on from the news earlier in the week that Rovers will begin their pre-season campaign at Cammell Laird.

After the announcement this week of the first pre-season game to be confirmed for Tranmere, a second game has now been reported at home to Championship opposition.

The Blackpool Gazette are reporting that Simon Grayson's Blackpool side will visit Prenton Park for a friendly on Saturday 2^nd August (Kick-Off 3.00pm), which is just a week before the new season is set to kick-off.

It seems likely that this game against a team who were promoted into the Championship twelve months ago, will be the final game of Rover's pre-season campaign and comes at the opposite end to the friendly previously announced away at Cammell Laird FC.

That game, on July 12^th, is likely to be the first match of the pre-season schedule and will also kick-off at 3.00pm.

As previously reported, Total Tranmere can also confirm that Rovers are set to play pre-season games, possibly involving the Reserve and Youth Team players in North Wales with trips to Flint, Colwyn Bay and Buckley Town all planned for the pre-season campaign.

It is also believed that Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore has approached no fewer than five Premiership Clubs in Liverpool, Everton, Bolton, Manchester City and newly promoted Stoke City with a view to a home friendly against one or more of them and we are led to believe that Bolton have agreed to visit Prenton Park although this has yet to be confirmed.
