Rovers Face Pre-Season Trip to Marine

Marine FC have confirmed that they will once again play host to Tranmere Rovers in a pre-season friendly at Rossett Park in Crosby as the match becomes Rovers' third confirmed friendly of the season as the fixtures begin to take shape for the 2008/09 pre-season campaign.

Almost as expected, Tranmere are once again set to travel to Marine in pre-season with the date of the game now being confirmed by Marine FC as Saturday 19^th July at 3.00pm.

Rovers have played Marine at their Rossett Park Ground in Crosby a number of times in recent pre-seasons and it is always a good day out and one to look forward to in pre-season.

The confirmation of this game comes just a couple of days after it was confirmed that Simon Grayson's Blackpool side will visit Prenton Park for a friendly on Saturday 2^nd August (Kick-Off 3.00pm), which is just a week before the new season is set to kick-off.

Rovers will also travel to face Cammell Laird FC at Kirklands on Saturday 12^th July.  That game is likely to be the first match of the pre-season schedule and will also kick-off at 3.00pm.

As previously reported, Total Tranmere can also confirm that Rovers are set to play pre-season games, possibly involving the Reserve and Youth Team players in North Wales with trips to Flint, Colwyn Bay and Buckley Town all planned for the pre-season campaign.

This has now been backed up with reports that a Rovers Reserve/Youth Team will travel to Anglesey in North Wales to face Holyhead Hotspur on Saturday 12^th July (the same day as the friendly against Cammel Laird) and also a match away against Prestatyn Town on Wednesday 30th July is also being runoured but is as yet unconfirmed.

It is also believed that Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore has approached no fewer than five Premiership Clubs in Liverpool, Everton, Bolton, Manchester City and newly promoted Stoke City with a view to a home friendly against one or more of them and we are led to believe that Bolton have agreed to visit Prenton Park although this has yet to be confirmed.
