Tranmere Rovers 0 - 1 Oldham Athletic Match Stats
By Deadly Submarine
September 6 2008
A solitary goal from ex Rovers defender Reuben Hazell was enough to secure a win for Oldham although the result is harsh on a Rovers side that will feel they probably deserved at least a draw from the game after a solid first half but disappointing second half display.

Secondly, nine fouls and six yellow cards just shows how poor the official was. Crossley deserved to be booked for them, Ian Moore should have been sent off for us, whilst Jenno rightly got a yellow, but there were no other cards in my opinion.
We had 58% of the possession.

I can't remember the first tackle of the game, I think it might have been on Shuker, but personally I don't think you should be giving bookings as early as the first minute, as you are setting yourself a standard for the rest of the game. If it's unavoidable, then of course it has to be given, but many of the cards given yesterday were avoidable
