Manager Moore Looks Ahead to Scunthorpe Game

Ronnie Moore gives his views ahead of the Johnstone's Paint area semi-final tie away at Scunthorpe United tomorrow night knowing a win would put his side just 180 minutes from a first ever trip to the new Wembley Stadium in the final in April of next year.

Tranmere Rover manager Ronnie Moore spoke about how fired up he and his players are for tomorrow's semi final clash with Scunthorpe in the Johnstones Paint Trophy.

After a disappointing performance on Saturday in Bristol, Moore has told the clubs official website there will be a different Tranmere side tomorrow as his troops are excited of the prospect of playing at the new Wembley Stadium.

Moore told the Official Tranmere Rovers Website:

"We need to be up and at Scunthorpe.  If we perform like we did on Saturday there's only one outcome, and that's us losing. We've got to regroup and have a chat about why we let our standards drop."

"We've got a massive game, this is as big as they come for us. There's not a great deal that needs to be said to the players. It's a semi-final and there's a big incentive there for the players.  I think you'll see a far different Tranmere side to the one that you saw on Saturday."

"We know how difficult a game it's going to be as Scunthorpe are a good side. They're well organised, well drilled, play 4-4-2 home and away and the people who come in know their jobs."

"But if we play to the best of our ability we're more than capable of winning the game. We've played them and know we can beat them.  It was a very close game here and I would imagine it would be another close game on Tuesday."

Moore also commented on the status of the injured Craig Curran and Chris Greenacre who he believes will be back for Saturday's game at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.....

"Craig Curran is still struggling a bit.  Chris Greenacre has recovered from his ligament injury but hasn't trained so this game has come too soon for him.  He'll definitely be fit for Saturday."

Meanwhile the match officials have been announced for tomorrow's game.  The referee at Glanford Park is Mike Oliver who refereed Tranmere's comfortable 2-0 victory over Cheltenham in October.

The referee assistants will be D. Benton, D. Naylor and the fourth official will be A. Smith.
