Tranmere Rovers v Brighton and HA Match Discussion

By Deadly Submarine

For those who are unable to go to the home game against Brighton this afternoon, here is your platform for discussing all the events of the afternoon as well as the build up to it pre-match and any other aspects of the match that you may wish to discuss here.

Brighton and HA Match Discussion Thread

At Total Tranmere, we always like to take note of feedback from the users of the site and respond to it in the best way we can.  One thing we have picked up on more recently is that after Tranmere games there seem to be a lot of different threads that get started about the same game.

As a result of this feedback, from now on we will be providing Match Discussion Threads for every occasion when Tranmere play.

Tranmere are of course playing at home to Brighton and HA this afternoon in Coca-Cola League One so if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on and even discuss the team news and build up to the game beforehand too?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.  Or why not post the line-ups or anything else you can think of.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores in League One as well.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

You were saying Andy - lol!!

Extremely harsh on Brighton but nothing less than we deserved after the two recent Cup games especially Tuesday night to lose so late.

I thought Goodison had a poor game but Chorley was immmense and even Johnson and Taylor didn't have bad games either.

Savage once again just didn't really impress and Greenacre, although the fans booed when the decision was taken to take him off, looked tired at that point and it was probably the right decision.

Ronnie has said on the official site that he had a back injury. I thought we looked much better playing 4-3-3 anyway, and, as I've said for a while, I believe we should play it every week at home

Greenacre had a back injury? That's not good as that is what he has been suffering with recently already.

Fingers crossed it won't be too serious a recurrance of the injury then.

Twas my first visit this season......I have left it late this season....but this has been my first chance with us playing Sunday.....

Anyway conditions shocking, thought we were way ahead in the first half and looked like if we scored we would win....it was a big if though....Not much was being created with many side way passes(ala my club Falkirk !!) and I thought at times the midfield attempting either world cup across the pitch passes or delicate through balls....which in the conditions werent gonna be easy and proved to be that...!!

The second half, Brighton woke up and for a period were the better team, infact overall I would say had the best chances of the match, but luckily didnt take them and we huffed and puffed into the game and fortunately got the goal, which dont come sweeter by coming in injury time...boy I was relieved as I was getting text messages from Forest fan mate, Brentford fan mate who were winning..still awaiting reply from the Leeds fan...!!(all these guys live in Falkirk)

Well as I have said in MOM post, hard to single out players apart from Shuker...I have seen him play one good game, plenty of average ones and more poor ones than good ones...cant fault his effort, but his crossing and ability to take a man on was poor..he will know tho...but it does suprise me someone paid £300,000 for him...

As posted, was impressed with Savage on the deck today, he can look awkward but under horrid conditions I thought he played well, not outstanding but more impressive than the 90mins setanta game...

Special mention also to Taylor, who has plenty of skill and can put a wicked ball in, just a pity he doesnt get forward more as he seems the only one who could deliver a telling ball in...Missing Mclarens assists....

Overall chuffed with late winner....100% record for the season !!! Last season managed 9 games...Oldham away was the only defeat I seen...Im toying with Millwall away for next visit......!!

Very accurate summary of proceedings against Brighton. We were not as good as against Pererborough who came to win whereas Brighton did not until they realised we were having an off day then gave me a few scares. Forster was very mobile, unlike Bas who seems to get stuck way out on the wings. Ok he has lots of effort and dancing feet but maybe better use can be made of him down the middle.
