Ahead of Saturday's home League One clash with Carlisle United at Prenton Park, Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore admitted that his side have to win the game if they are to stay in touch with the promotion chasers who are positioned just ahead of his side in the League Table.

Speaking to Tranmere World earlier today, Moore said....

"It's very tight. I think the top six are playing each other this weekend, so they can't all win.  It's vital we get the victory here.   Our home form is really good and we're looking forward to the game.  Carlisle are coming into a bit of form - they've won at Leeds and came back from 2-0 down to beat MK Dons.  So we take nothing for granted, but we don't fear anybody, especially at home."

"Hopefully we can get a few more through the turnstiles.  This is the time when we do really need support.  I know it's tough, the financial climate dictates which games people are going to pick, but this is going to be a tough game so we need some vocal support."

Moore went on to discuss the striking crisis that continues to plague his side and yet has remained unresolved even during the January transfer window so far with no sign of anyone coming in before the end of the month to boost the goals.

Moore is without Bas Savage through suspension, Chris Greenacre and Craig Curran through injury and youngster Terry Gornell also has a minor injury although Moore is hoping he will be fit in time to play.

Moore added....

"Savage is missing which doesn't help.  Chris Greenacre is going to be another two weeks and Craig Curran has had a little relapse in training so won't be available."

"Terry Gornell took a knock in training on Tuesday so we hope he comes through training today. That gives you the option of playing either Terry or Chris Shuker alongside Ian Moore. We have still got options, it just limits them if Terry isn't right."
