Midfielder Jennings Makes League One Top Team

Rovers midfielder Steven Jennings has been rewarded for his excellent performance in Saturday's home win over Carlisle United by being named in the League One Team of the Week although it may surprise some Rovers fans that another Rovers star did not make it.

After a great performance in the Tranmere midfield on Saturday afternoon as Rovers thumped Carlisle United 4-1 in Coca-Cola League One, Steven Jennings has been rewarded today by making the League One Team of the Week as voted for by the Press Association.

Whilst there can be no doubt that Jennings more than deserves his place in the Team of the Week though, many Rovers fans will be surprised to learn that striker Ian Moore who netted two goals and could have had a hat-trick failed to make it into the team himself.

In Total Tranmere's Match Report and Match Snippets post-match articles, both written by different people, Moore pipped Jennings to the Man of the Match awards but Jennings takes his place in the team and deservedly so.

Very much deserved too! He was very good and I really hope we sort his contract out soon! Surprised Ian Moore isn't in it though.

He is playing his socks off right now cause he want's to leave to a bigger club. This is why he will not sign for us.

That's what a lot of fans want to believe but from what I've heard this isn't the case - it's more of a contract issue.
