Ronnie's Views Ahead of Leyton Orient Match

Ahead of Saturday's visit of Leyton Orient to Prenton Park in Coca-Cola League One, Ronnie Moore admitted that despite Rovers' recent home form it will not be an easy game for his side, especially given that Orient today appointed a new Manager after the end of Martin Ling's spell in charge.

With the game against Leyton Orient fast approaching at Prenton Park, Ronnie Moore spoke to Tranmere World about his thoughts on the game and the current injury situation at the Club as a couple of long term injuries continue to plague the squad.

Moore told Tranmere World.......

"You have to be positive.  We were disappointed but it's gone now and we can't do anything about it.  We've got another tough game against Leyton Orient now.  They've got a new manager and one or two of their players will lift themselves, but we're playing at home and it's about what we do."

"If we perform as well as we have at home, we are a match for anybody.  I just hope we can get a bigger crowd in because the lads deserve it.  We have been playing well at home and when the fans get behind us the atmosphere is unbelievable."

"We want promotion and we want the fans behind us.  Some of the football played in the last two games here has been as good as it has been for some time."

"I go on more than anyone about the Ian Goodison factor.  We've had a chat about it and we know we have to put it to bed. I don't want to be talking about missing Ian Goodison any more.  We've got as good a back four as anybody at this level so there's no reason why we can't grind out the results we want."

"Our home form has been really good this season but we need to pick up away from home because that's where your promotion comes from.  Goodison is going to be out for 4-6 weeks so for the lads who are in there, it's up to them to prove we can win games without him."

"Chris Greenacre is three weeks off.  He sees a specialist in two weeks then has a week to get fit.  Craig Curran is having an operation that will put him out for five weeks and Terry Gornell will be back in training in a week."

Yes Ronnie we've been wanting promotion for years but we always falter in the crucial games which is why it just doesn't look likely! Surely that must be a phsycological problem or a hoodoo? Was speaking to my girlfriends uncle John Heath who used to be the Rovers keeper in the 70's and he said they used to have the same problem back then whereby crucial games they needed to win to kick on they just couldn't manage. Apparently back then they received a bonus for being in the top 4 teams which they would have lost had they ever received promotion, he blamed that for them not getting promotion but not sure what league or anything they were in or how much truth there was in that! Anyway, I digress, with Curran and Greenacre being another 5-6 weeks away from full fitness does anyone think now might be a good time to bring in a striker or a winger in on loan - I feel it might be an idea to put Bas back into the starting line-up depending on the next couple of results and pair him with Moore with Shuker on the right and a loanee on the left. Either that or Moore back on the wing with Shuker/Savage and a loanee striker up front. What do people think?

With the window now closed our options are limited to loans or the odd free available but I can't see it happening at all now sadly.
