Ahead of Tranmere's third successive home game in League One, this time against Swindon Town on Saturday , Deadly Submarine took time out to speak to Swindon Fan Derek Elston about his team's fortunes so far this season, the game ahead against Tranmere and his predictions for League One this season.

What is you name and for how long have you supported Swindon Town?

Derek Elston.  I have supported Swindon Town for 47 years and last missed a first team competitive fixture in 1981.

EDITORS NOTE: That's one hell of an impressive record Derek - Well Done!

ABOUT YOUR CLUB

What is your most memorable Swindon Town moment or match?

A visit to St. Andrews Birmingham 12th April 1992.  Swindon were 4 - 1 down with 25 minutes to play.  Glenn Hoddle was playing sweeper and stepped into midfield to transform our performance and we won 6 - 4!  This is closely followed by our three winning Wembley appearances.

Your worst moment supporting Swindon Town?

Being relegated to the old Division 4 in 1982 at Somerton Park, Newport County 1 - 0 on the 18th of May.  It was the first time we were ever to play in the bottom tier, the drive home was in silence!

In your eyes who is Swindon Town's All-Time Greatest Player and why?

Swindon's all time great has to be Don Rogers, a player that could destroy the opposition and create chances for others as well as having the ability to score himself. He could also go unnoticed for 89 minutes and then win the game for us with one piece of magic.  Would have played for England had he moved to a bigger club.

EDITOR'S NOTE: For anyone who went to Swindon Away on the opening day if this season, Rogers was the one having a Stand named after him and trying to make a speech but failing hilariously!

Taxi For?  To which Player would you pay a Taxi Fare to leave the Club?

I would not pay a taxi fare for any player to leave the club but would pay the fare for goalkeeping coach John Granville to go as I believe our keepers have regressed under his guidance.

Which Swindon Town player can do most damage to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday?

Simon Cox, he is lethal in front of goal and never knows when he is beaten.

Is Danny Wilson the right man to get Swindon Town out of League One?

Danny is new to us but has a good record at this level of football, I think it is a case of keeping us in this division this season and then building for next season. I certainly hope that he achieves for us both this season and in the future.

Any Swindon Town Chants we should try to listen out for at the game?

Sadly our supporters still want to berate a non league side from just up the road who were replaced in the league by Accrington Stanley. Quite boring really.

LEAGUE ONE VIEWS

What is your Top Two Prediction for League One this season?

Leicester City and Peterborough United

Play-Off Winners?

Leeds United

Your tip for the Bottom Four places?

Crewe Alexandra, Cheltenham Town, Hereford United and Brighton

THE TWO CLUBS

Where do you think Swindon Town will finish this season?

17th

Do you think Tranmere will be Promoted/Relegated from League One and why?

Tranmere can look forward to another season in League 1 next season. Whilst playing some attractive football that little bit extra to gain promotion is not there but are in no danger of a relegation dog fight.

What is your Prediction for Saturday's game between the sides?

1-2

EDITORS NOTE: I assume that means a Swindon win!

Any other comments to add?

I have always enjoyed the trips to Prenton Park and the two games we had in the play off semi finals will live long in the memory for the entertainment provided and the warmth of the Rovers fans after the second leg tie.

EDITORS NOTE: Just don't mention 'floodlights' to some Rovers fans!

Thanks very much for your time and enjoy the game (but not too much) and good luck for the rest of the Season after the match against Tranmere.

Greta Fanfile Derek and a very impressive record of not missing a competitive game since 1981 - almost as long as I've been alive!

When we played Swindon at home a few seasons a go, I remember Richie announcing that there was a Swindon fan at his 1,000th consecutive fixture. I'm assuming it's this guy?

Hell of a record in any case, fair play and well done! Guess he's not married ha ha

I imagine it must have been him and I too assumed he probably isn't married (or has a very understanding other half).

Derek has even offered to bring me a Swindon Town badge from their Club Shop and meet me before the game so I can add a missed one from this season to my collection!
