Weather Report

After a reasonable morning for the Total Tranmere boys to have a kick-about, the weather turned dull and colder ahead of the Rovers match although it did remain dry for the duration of it. 

Crowd

5,153 fans were inside Prenton Park for today's game which continues to be a disappointing average given our recent good home form.

Referee Watch

David Webb (County Durham) - The decision to award a foul against Ian Goodison and send him off looked harsh on first viewing but other than that the referee wasn't really noticeable for the majority of the game which I guess is good - 7/10

Best Moment

Antony Kay's goal won the game and was therefore the main highlight of the game including his flick up and over and the shot that followed.

Worst Moment

As mentioned above, the sending off of Ian Goodison looked harsh and Rovers fans probably feared the worst when the card was raised to dismiss the Jamaican.

Tranmere Man of the Match

Ryan Shotton - Both Shotton and Andy Taylor had good games at the back whilst Barnett and Gornell when he came on also put in good performances but Shotton was the man who deserves the award in my opinion.

Connections

There were no connections between the two sides in terms of past players in this game.

Rovers Fans

The Rovers fans got behind their team at times with even the Main Stand having a spell of involvement in the clapping and singing which made a nice change.

Swindon Fans

Didn't seem to be singing too much from the Cowshed end but were heard shouting "Off Off Off loudly enough when Goodison was dismissed.

Summary

A scrappy game in which Rovers didn't really play all that well but the result, particularly with ten men was vital in the race for a play-off places.  How the suspension of Ian Goodison affects the team remains to be seen.

Entertainment Value

Not the best and most entertaining game ever but the fact that Rovers won made it all worthwhile in the end 6/10
