Pre-Match Chat - Northampton Town Fan

Hello Tranmere fans. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to voice my opinions about our upcoming match. I am Nathan Smith and I am 17 years old. I've lived and support Northampton Town all my life. Things are very hard down at Sixfields of late, but I still have faith in the lads.

Possibly Oxford away in our promotion season. It was Saturday 22^nd April 2006. That victory more or less gave us promotion to League One.  It was a great season under Colin Calderwood and a great memory which I will never forget about.

Also in 1998 when Northampton played Swansea City in the Division Three playoff Final.  John Frain scoring a re-taken free kick in the 93^rd min to give us victory.  Oh what a day and any victory against the Welsh is welcoming!

Possibly the day when the local council came out and said they wouldn't redevelop Sixfields Stadium. We still have on going talks with the council that began way back in 2002 but somehow we still haven't got anywhere for our proposed 15,000 all-seater Stadium.

Mark Bunn without a doubt.  I lost count how many times he kept us out of trouble.  He was a fantastic keeper for us and Leicester City pulled off a sweet move loaning Mark Bunn.  He saved a penalty last Saturday for them as well!  Wish we could have him back, but along with the rest of the players we have lost, we haven't replaced them.

Well currently the Cobblers villain is Leon Constantine as most Cobblers fans think he is a waste of time, probably because of his lack of effort to play in a Claret and White shirt. 

However, personally I would pay Liam Dolman to leave the club.  He is the worst defender or player I have ever seen play for Northampton.  Hes only a young lad but isn't fit to be a footballer.  His body shape is likewise to John Barnes nowadays and just isn't right for the worlds best game.

I would say Bayo Akinfenwa but he isn't right at the minute.  Being forced to play, still struggling with injury.  Very good player when fit but he hasn't been fully fit since we first signed him.

Therefore I would probably go with Giles Coke, even though he hasn't been performing better or as good as last season.  He has struggled with injuries this season and maybe that has had a big effect on his all round play.

I believe so, with lack of money and losing key players he has done reasonably well.  Last season we lost Bradley Johnson to Leeds, but didn't replace him.  However we finished 9^th. Very good season, a lot of us were hoping for more along the same lines, if not playoffs.

This season we have terribly been hit with injuries and it didn't start well the minute we sold our two best players, Mark Bunn and Gabor Gyepes.  Yet again we didn't replace these players, bringing in two youth players to cover who have to be honest, cost us games and vital points over the course of this season.

Gray has been a superb loan ranger.  Bringing in the likes of Daniel Jones, Mark Little and Anthony Walker. All very good youth talent from Championship sides.

As if!! Sixfields is as quiet as a church, unless we play teams like Leeds, Leicester or Peterborough which brings out people from nowhere who don't care about the team, just come along to watch the big teams.  Oh well its money for NTFC at the end of the day isn't it?

I know your all hoping I say Tranmere but unfortunately I'm going to have to go with either Peterborough United or Scunthorpe.  Both sides have been impressive this season.  I hate to say that Boro have been good because they are a rival, but credit is due when credit is due.

They are having a remarkable season, especially coming up from League Two last season.  In fact, Stockport are doing very well too.  I wouldn't be surprised if they made playoffs, but there is a long way to go.

In order:

21 - Yeovil

22 - Crewe

23 - Hereford United

24 - Cheltenham Town

Wont get relegated.  I doubt you will get promoted because you are a mixed team.  One week get very good wins, then next week lose or draw against teams you should beat. You need to be more consistent.  However, I do think you will make playoffs, but sorry, I cannot see you winning them.
