Weather Report
Not too cold and unlike Northampton's home game on Tuesday it remained dry throughout the game allowing it to last for the full ninety minutes.
Crowd
4,546 fans were inside the Sixfields Stadium for this game as Northampton struggle somewhat in League One this season. The banter between the Rovers Fans and the home fans to our left was good throughout the game and this time there were plenty of Stewards on hand at the end of the game to prevent last season's problems recurring.
Referee Watch
Craig Pawson (Sheffield) - Some Rovers fans may disagree but the referee had a decent enough game today. He may have seemed picky at times but Rovers gave away far too many needless free-kicks, particularly in the first half - 8/10
Best Moment
It could also be filed under shock moment of the day but Bas Savage's goal that gave Rovers the lead sent the Rovers fans at the opposite end of the ground wild with delight to the extent that I didn't even see if Big Bas had moonwalked in celebration - although I'm reliably informed he did.
Funniest Moment
Being re-united with a certain steep hill brought back some funny memories but on the day there wasn't much to report on the comedy scene other than the Rovers fan in the strange pyjama type trousers.
Worst Moment
The needless equaliser given away by Rovers early in the second half meant what should have been a straightforward win became a frustrating draw in the end.
Tranmere Man of the Match
Charlie Barnett - Good games for Ryan Shotton on his return from injury and for Steven Jennings but Man of the Mact hwas the excellent Charlie Barnett who once again played well out wide.
Connections
There were no connections today between the two sides.
Rovers Fans
The Rovers faithful engaged in good banter with the home fans over to the left of the away stand and got behind the team during the dominant Rovers performance.
Northampton Town Fans
The home fans made their fair share of noise on certain occasions but there were other times when the Rovers Fans went quiet that you could have heard someone fart at the far end of the ground even when the home side had possession.
Summary
Rovers once again paid the price for not converting chances and for being indecisive infront of goal. A dominant performance away from home earned just a single point as a result as once again other sides around Rovers also failed to make ground in the race for a play-off place.
Entertainment Value
There were changes for both sides and when the ball was on the deck there was some good football played 7/10
