Robbie Burns Joins Rovers on Loan

Rovers have today signed winger Robbie Burns on loan from Leicester City until the end of the season following the injury to Danny Mayor who has been on loan from Preston for the last two weeks.

After recent loan signing Danny Mayor fell victim to an injury at home to Huddersfield Town last weekend and with Chris Shuker now sidelined until the end of the season with a broken arm, Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore has been called into the transfer market once again to replace the pair in the hope of providing the strikers with more firepower in the push for a play-off place.

The result of that scenario is the signing on loan until the end of the season of Leicester City winger Robbie Burns who is not be confused with the famous Scottish Poet who is sadly no longer with us.

Shuker's Season Ending Injury meant Rovers required another Winger

The move to Tranmere on loan has capped off a busy day for the 18-year old after he signed his first professional contract with Leicester earlier in the day after impressing in both Leicester's Reserve and Youth sides this season.

Rovers Manager Ronnie Moore told Tranmere World...

"We've watched Robbie a few times this season and he is a good young player.  He's a tricky winger who will give us added options.  I'd like to thank Leicester Manager Nigel Pearson for allowing him to come to us until the end of the season."

Burns will wear the number 28 shirt for Rovers and is available immediately for the game away at Oldham Athletic tomorrow afternoon which is certainly good news after Rovers missed a quality ball crosser in the midweek defeat away at bottom side Cheltenham Town.
