In her matchday programme notes from Sunday's home game against Bristol Rovers, Chairman Lorraine Rogers announced that as well as the special £125.00 season ticket offer currently being promoted by the Club, there will also be a number of other celebrations taking place in order to mark the 125th anniversary of the Club which happens in November of 2009.

The event that is likely to attract most interest is the launch of a new home kit which will have a specific reference to the 125th season of the Club as well as a new 125th year Club Badge for next season which is sure to appear on the new shirt when it is launched.  Although it would be nice for the design of the new badge to come from the fans, it is still unclear as to how the new look crest will be decided upon.

Rovers Will Have a Celebratory 125th Anniversary Kit

The thoughts of some fans had turned to the home kit reverting to Blue - the colour in which Rovers used to play at home - in order to celebrate this special year, but with the current Rovers away kit being blue, this seems unlikely to be the outcome.

Other events which have been announced to mark this anniversary include a 125th anniversary dinner, the introduction of a Rovers Hall of Fame for past Players and also special celebration events to take place during the nearest home game to the 15th November anniversary date.

All these events leave Rovers fans with much to look forward to next season and Total Tranmere will no doubt be involved with some of them so stay tuned here for further news on these events as we get it.
