If you're unable to make Rovers' home game against Hereford United this afternoon in Coca-Cola League One, why not discuss the game right here as Tranmere look to cement the play-off spot they moved into on Saturday afternoon following the 1-0 win away at Walsall.

At Total Tranmere, we always like to take note of feedback from the users of the site and respond to it in the best way we can.  One thing we have picked up on more recently is that after Tranmere games there seem to be a lot of different threads that get started about the same game.

As a result of this feedback, from now on we will be providing Match Discussion Threads for every occasion when Tranmere play.

Tranmere are of course playing at home to Hereford United in Coca-Cola League One so if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on and even discuss the team news and build up to the game beforehand too?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.  Or why not post the line-ups or anything else you can think of.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores in League One as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

While the 3 points wee ,the performance wasn't. Play-offs may be gone without Goodison - I didn't think it was a red card, although he had both feet, and sort of jumped, he didn't really catch their player. Their player also jumped with 2 feet... why didn't he get dismissed?

The penalty was also ridiculous - football is a CONTACT sport. There was no push they were both running for the ball!

Ref was poor - first half he gave absolutely every decision to us when it wasn't, he was poor for both teams.

Got to improve for Saturday although I have little hope without Goodison. With 3 games to go, and a 3 match ban, I think we should appeal against it, he's gonna be out for rest of season anyway so worth a try.

agree with mikey about goodison, i dont think we have much hope without him! But it was definatley a sending off, stupid tackle!

First 20 minutes where brillaint we looked lively and up for it, but once we scored the 2 goals the tempo dropped dramatically, it increased slightly in the first 15 mins of second half but dropped again.

Ridicoulous penalty decision, spoilt the win a little but 3 points still and Leeds next week is massive!

that was a bit of an anti-climax that second half, not the best of performances, but its a results business.
clearly wasnt a penalty and a shame we were robbed of a clean sheet.
i have to say i think it was a red, hes gone in two footed and it was a stupid tackle when there was no danger.
two good goals, shame we didn't add to them after and if we'd have got 2 more goals instead of messing around in the corner we would have had a level GD with scunny.

After Leeds losing we went out and did the job which was to win.

Shame that Scunny and Southend both won but we have stayed ahead of them and that will do me.

I thought Goodison's tackle was stupid and looked like a red card but will look forward to seeing it on TV. As Mikey says we have nothing to lose by appealing against it though.

Didn't see the penalty decision (pole in the way) so I can't comment on that - great finish though!

Despite a poor second half nothing has changed for me. Goodison has been a liability at times in recent games so its onwards to Leeds!

Bring it On!!

agreed may not be too bad a thing goodison missing leeds, as he loooked unbelievably dodgy today! Looked a stone wall red card for me, 2 footed lunge, ok he missed the player but the untent was there!
3 points is 3 points, im more concerned about the midfield next week, with edds partenring jenno, and thats if he's fit!!!

what would people say to shotton moving to centre, put edds at right back and leaving kay where he is.
edds didn't do a thing wrong at right back and that would leave a major goal threat in kay up the right end of the pitch.

or would that mess up the team too much?

I would prefer that to losing Kay from centre-midfield if I'm honest yeah!

I would of done that.

And intent alone isn't a red card Niall, I don't think he actually wanted to hurt the guy anyway.

Goodison was stupid jumping in two footed, whether or not he made contact doesen't matter, it gives the ref an excuse to send him off! Dilemma now for what to do on saturday, I don't want to lose Kay from midfield, moving Shotton across is a possibility although we did that at Crewe and conceded two. I fear games are running out now, we have been brilliant to get 72 points, but teams around us keep winning and the points target in league one this year is very high. Great easter though, but I rekon we have to beat leeds now.

Clearly not a sending off and if it was their player should have been off as well. Myrie-Williams dived rather predictably as he did that when he played for us.

Motm was Savage he lead the line well, scored a great goal and chased the opposition down well. Chorley and Barnett also played well, we clearly missed Jennings in the 2nd half.

I also found out that Goodison offered to take a £700 pay cut for a 2 year contract (From £1,700 a week) but LR turned it down saying she was only giving out 1 year deals, however they eventually agreed to give Goodison a 2 year contract at £1000 a week. It shows how loyal Goodison is and what an example he is for other footballers, it's a shame LR doesn't seem to appreciate that. That money could be used for keeping Kay/Chorley.

has to be kay at the back with edds in the middle. remember when we played stockport and for me that was one of the best performances of the season edds was in the middle then.
thought savage and sonko played well off each other today.goodison had a shocker couple of bad blunders today and if it hadn't been hereford i think we would of been punished. maybe a good thing him not playing against leeds.
the performance needs to improve, i think it will though.we usually do lift it for the big games

does anyone one know what has happened to danny mayour the winger on loan from preston.is he coming back?
every balls a white ball!

Dreadful performance outside of the first 20 mins and even then we weren't that good was - more Hereford were terrible. Scunthorpe's win was a bit of a downer, think we will probably get squezed out, looks like we'll have to beat Leeds now to have a chance but you never know.

This killing the match thing - was more understandable to an extent today but seems to be happenning earlier and earlier. Next week are we going to take it to the corner flag from half time. Might be petty but you can't really complain about people not coming through the turnstiles if the game isn't entertaining and the second half was a complete non-event. If I was a first-timer I wouldn't be back next week.

I'm all for giving youngsters a go but its not the right game for Waterfall. For a game like Leeds, we have to have an experienced CB combo so unfortunately Kay will probably need to be moved.

He was gonna be out for three weeks or so initially I thought but surely his loan deal expired in that time?

Goodison was idiotic to think he would get away with that two footed tackle! He may well have cost us our play off shot.

Goodison has been a liability most of this season and I would never have given him a 2 yr contract. He is too old, unfit and slow. Waterfall looks a good prospect to me and I would probably take the risk with him at Leeds as we cant afford to lose Kay from midfield.

The performance was below par and what bothered me was that Ronnie didnt change it before the sending off. Its about time we were more positive in our approach. We have a supposedly good winger on loan and he needs to be used. The game today was crying out for some wingplay. We should have walloped them even with 10 men today as they were possibly the worst team I have seen at PP for years!

They were terrible i agree. And we should have made a couple of subs to keep our squad fresher. Should have brought Bas off. He looked knackered and apparently is injured.
Waterfall is class in the air but literally anyone could skin him with the ball on the floor. His feet are terrible!

They were a poor side although Myrie-Williams had his fair share of the ball but as he did when playing for us, failed to get many crosses in.

Dave you've seen Waterfall play about 3 times, one being a pre-season friendly against Cammell Lairds! Hardly enough to judge him.

How you can say goodison is a liability and we are better without him at leeds is a fukin disgrace!

when we beat leicster he marked Matty Fryatt out of the game, when we played leeds he marked becchio out of the game and when we played leeds last year he marked Beckford out of the game. hes a brillaint footballer and a definate big game player!

and u cant asy hes slow, hes faster than chorley who is years younger than him!

I agree about not losing kay from midfield and not putting in waterfall

Coyne

Edds Shotton CHorley Taylor

Sonko Jenno Kay Barnett

Savge Moore

That is the team I would probably like to see to Dani! The good think about that team is if it isn't working we can switch it without making any subs by putting Edds CM, Kay Cb and shotts to RB!

Yeah exactly Dani, Shotton at CB and Edds at RB was a nightmare for those 15 minutes.

Re: Tranmere Rovers v Hereford Utd Match Discussion Thread

Thats because they swapped it mid-game. Defence is the most important part of the team and it needs to be settled - hence why Utd have conceeded so many recently, there defence has changed around so much.

If Shotton was to start the game CB, and Edds RB then they'll be focused exactly on what their doing - IMO RM should of decided what he's doing by now, as if Shotton n Edds are playing RB they need to practice certain things in training.
