West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Luke Daniels joins Rovers on loan from the Championship Club until the end of the season, easing the goalkeeper crisis faced by Manager John Barnes after the departures of John Achterberg and Danny Coyne during the summer.

Tranmere Manager John Barnes finally got his man today to ease his goalkeeping crisis by signing West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Luke Daniels on loan until the end of the season leaving both Daniels and youngster Joe Collister as Rovers two main goalkeepers at this stage.
The 21-year old has spent the last two seasons at the Hawthorns as a Baggies player but spent last season on a season-long loan at League Two side Shrewsbury Town where he played a key role in the Shrews reaching the League Two Play Off Final where they were beaten by Gillingham.

Daniels Spent Last Season on Loan at Shrewsbury in League Two
Daniels, a former Manchester United trainee and England Under-18 international, saved two penalties in the penalty shoot out in the play-off semi-final victory over Bury that took the Shrews to Wembley for the second time in three seasons and in total has made 44 career appearances.
Rovers Manager John Barnes said.......
"I'm pleased to be able to bring a young goalkeeper of Luke's quality to Tranmere. He had a very impressive season at Shrewsbury and has a good future ahead of him. I'd like to thank West Brom Manager Roberto Di Matteo for allowing Luke to join us on loan."
Luke has also been given permission by West Brom to play in all three cup competitions for Tranmere this season and is available for his first appearance in the pre-season friendly at home to a Liverpool XI on Friday, 24 July which kicks off 7.45pm.

Just cos I'd heard yesterday he may not be signing it was still a shout made three weeks ago rather than yesterday by Phil

Things can still only get better!
A defender or two and a back up keeper and we should be alreet!

We don't need a back-up. we should save some money and put our faith in Collister!!
