For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match anaylsis.
Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.Tranmere host Gillingham in Coca-Cola League One this afternoon, so if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores in League One as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

welsh's goal was top class, and gornell showed why he should probably be starting ahead of curran, a great strike. thomas-moore scored two pochers goal and they made the difference.
gillinghams goals however i think could have been prevented, he sat off too much at that point and let them shoot, but they were two quality goals that gave daniels no chance.
Player Ratings
Daniels 8- didnt have a lot to do, had no chance with the goals, but made a stunning save in injury time
Cresswell 6- didnt play badly, but i would like to see him bombing up and down a bit more
goodison 9- a rock! has jackson in his back pocket and kept the defence together throughout
gunning 7- did well and is a good partner for goodison
logan 6- showed pace, skill and a good tackle, sometimes needs to remember hes a right back and not midfield
mahon 5- decent first half, quiet second and was rightly substituted
mclaren 6- did a decent calm job in the centre
welsh 7- good battling performance and a stunning goal
shuker 6- showed energy but lacked the final ball
thomas-moore 7- two good headers that made the difference
curran 5- showed energy but was rightly taken off for gornell
gornell 7- showed more energy and passion than curran and was more of a threat, great goal
edds 7- did well when he came on and seems to improved since last term

McLaren didn't have the best and niether in the first half did John Welsh.
The defence was solid enough and I don't recall Daniels having many saves to make until the one deep in injury time after we had gone 4-2 up.
As Mark says though the goals probably could have been prevented despite the quality with which they were finished.
All in all another encouraging performance ahead of the match against injury hit MK Dons on Tuesday night!!
The defence did OK, but unless they improve they'll get anialated by Beckford and co next week! Very, very impressed with Logan, especially going forward, but I thought a few times he dived in to quickly, possibly lucky to not concede a penalty first half. Gunning is excellent at tackling and winning headers, but his distribution is absolutely terrible! Goodison was excellent and carried the defence at times, whilst Cressa was his usual good attacking self.
McLaren didn't have the best of games, thought Welsh did OK. Shuker started off great, then the fans (or some around me) got on his back, when if it was another player they probably wouldn't of! Mahon had a poor game compared to some of pre-season games.
Curran worked hard as always but no end product, and I much prefer Gornell who was excellent, and made the difference when he came on! Moore was very good to.. he looks like he may well make Mike wear the wig!!!
Also, how good was Gareth Edds!!!

As for the wig - we'll wait and see. My mood so far is worry and for once the phrase "there's a long way to go" is definitely a bad thing.

Totally agree with all of that except that my Man of the Match was Gavin Gunning - I thought he was immense today!

Enjooyed this game a lot - most of it was good to watch. Looking forward to seeing Logan again this season - looked a (the) class player going forward if slightly suspect at the back.
I'm kind of with the original poster, I thought Gunning was okay really but certainly not man of the match.
Will have to watch Welsh more carefully next game - seemed fairly annonymous most of the game but I normally miss these players unless I'm looking out for them.
Cresswell 6
goodison 8 - get very nervy watching him, looks an accident waiting to happen but it never does (normally)
gunning 7
logan 8 - very impressed with him, bags of potential
mahon 5- disappointed in him to be honest
mclaren 6
welsh 7- for the goal
shuker 7 - looks a lot more confident although might be a touch generous here
thomas-moore 9 - got the goals and looked pretty good all game
curran 5 - didn't really show anything of significance
gornell 8
edds 8
And credit to Barnes for making the subsitutions eeffectively - how many times were we demanding Moore used him subs more and unless we were losing he'd wait till last 10 mins.
