Ahead of yet another Tranmere home game on Saturda afternoon, Total Tranmere's Deadly Submarine took time out to interview Charlton Athletic fan Simon to get his thoughts on Charlton Athletic, League One in general and on the upcoming match between the two sides this Saturday. Here's what Simon had to say.......
What is Your Name and How Old are You?
Simon Monk - 40
How Long Have You Supported Your Team and What Made You Choose Them?
My uncle took me to my first game in February 1981, however they were and still are my nearest team.YOUR CLUB
What are Your Views on the Current Manager?Parky has had a tough time, but he’s inherited a useless pile of rubbish that Pardew wasted all our money on.
If you could have one past Player back in his prime who would you have and why?Clive Mendonca – he just knew where the net was.
What is your Greatest Memory from supporting your Club?So many, not all good, however the Wembley Play-Off Final against Sunderland still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
If you were in charge at your Club as Manager or Chairman what changes would you make?
Wages with-held if you don’t put the effort in on matchdays.What expectations do your team's fans seem to have for this season?
Well we would expect to be pushing for promotion, however the club is in a mess on and off the field.
AWAY DAYS
What are the Best and Worst Away Grounds you've Visited to date and why?
I always enjoyed going to Highbury as I know lots of Gooners and enjoy having a beer with them. Worst away grounds? Easy – Scumwall & palarse.Have you visited Prenton Park before and if so, what are your views?
I haven’t as always tends to be on a Friday night!LEAGUE ONE
Who do you think will be Promoted/Relegated from League One this Season?
I think Norwich, Leeds & Huddersfield will do well. On paper it looks like Exeter, Stockport, Swindon & Southend will struggle.
Where do you think your Team will finish this season?Play-offs.
Where do you think Tranmere will finish this season in League One?Play-offs, or just outside them.
GENERAL
On past experience, what are your views on Tranmere as a Club?
I actually attended a Tranmere match away to Bristol City back in the late 80s! Don’t ask me why, it was one of those mad things we got up to! Bristol is good for a night out too...well it used to be!
Gillingham appear to be big rivals of yours but with four London Teams in League One next season, which of those teams are your biggest rivals out of the other three (Millwall, Orient and Brentford?)
The Gills dislike us as they think our Board nicked some of their fans when we were in The Premiership! Most fans don’t have a problem with them. Our main rivals this season will be scumwall, but we hate palarse.THE MATCH VS TRANMERE
