Throughout the season we will provide you with a platform to discuss each and every Rovers match whether it be the build-up to kick-off or post match analysis so here we bring you the Match Discussion Thread for Saturday afternoon's Coca Cola League One match away at Carlisle United. League One scores during the match.

Carlisle U v Tranmere R

Kick-Off 3.00pm at Brunton Park

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match anaylsis.

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.

Tranmere Travel to Carlisle United in Coca Cola League One this afternoon, so if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores in Coca-Cola League One as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

We always seem to do well at Brunton Park so I think we will get something from it.

I'd hope it was a win but I feel it may be a draw possibly.

I think now we have to make changes or it will be to late. Barnes is a failure at been a manager. You can't undersand a bloody word he says speaks so fast how on earth can the players get up for it when he talking. We will go dow this season no doubt if he remains

This is a joke! We just seem to get battered every week. The worst part is listening or reading our so called managers interviews after the game. They are so baffling its untrue. We will almost certainly go down if he remains in charge. Johnson has to admit he made a mistake, and fast!

I'm living a little too far away to have been to any games this season, so I mainly follow results on the internet and base my own opinions on what I read on websites like total tranmere.

I see there is still a great divide between the Rovers fans about John Barnes; those who want him out now and those who want to give him time and pray for a fairytale ending.

I have a nasty little habit of sitting on the fence with most things and I guess this is one of those things. I'd love to give John Barnes more time as manager in the hope that he turns things around and gets the team playing, scoring goals and picking up points. But how much time is too much time?

I'm starting to lean towards the 'John Barnes Out!' brigade if I'm being totally honest. He talks a good game and has a good philosophy about how he wants his team to play. But realistically it just isn't happening. With the reported situation of the players referring to the management as 'Dumb and Dumber' it's clear that they have lost the locker room and will have to double their efforts to get the trust of the players off the pitch, then to get them trusting this system on it.

I remember reading a post by someone shortly after Barnes' appointment, they said that Barnes would be good for us when the team are performing and getting results. But when things aren't working out it all goes to rat sh*t with him (not verbatum as per that post). That moment seems to be now, even with the season still in its infancy.

I will forever remain a faithful Tranmere fan, and look forward to coming back to the UK so I can start getting to a few more games. But it breaks my heart to keep seeing the results as they are at the moment. Someone somewhere needs to swallow a big lump of pride and make a big old decision and that first decision is to offload Barnes and McAteer and install the right man in charge, whoever that may be, but anyone at the moment is better than what is in place. Then they have to do what is right for the club and its fans and stop holding out for nothing more than pure greed and @#$%& off themselves!

Rant over.

Agree on his talk. Hated it when he was player. Getting rid of him still leaves a useless bunch of players we are stuck with.
We are also stuck with Johnson, the architect of it all.

I think Tranmere will die before you. And for those who will turn up when there's about 1200, there may well be seen no justification for what some will see as an eyesore of a stadium .

It has always looked to me as though PJ priority has been to protect his so called loan to the club. The Corfe fiasco was a consequence of PJ trying to circumnavigate league rules when he went to Everton.
Any other club in Rovers position of the last 10 years wouls have taken the hit of administration to re-finance itself. We didnt because our main debt was to the person who controlled the club. The rules on administration are tougher now but by Christmas it could be worth a 10 point hit if relegation already looks certain ( as per Stockport). It would not be a panacea but it could at least give hope of a restructured club that could prosper in a modest way.

It has often been mentioned as an asset that PJ is a business man.One characteristic sometimes associated with this is ruthlessness.
The level of financial pruning this year goes beyond prudence. It has made Rovers virtually non viable at this level.PJ must Know this. Was Moore sacked so that a rookie manager would either not understand or accept the situation where as Moore may have made his feelings known or have walked. So was Barnes a deliberately bad appointment so that the club could sink.We are about two years away from a commercial property pick up. Just the time scale to par everything to the bone so that there are no other liabilities and then flog off the assett.
O.K it is a speculative viewpoint rooted in conspiracy theory. But how else does one explain the otherwise inept and appalling football decisions made by PJ since taken up the reins again

Great minds think alike. I have also wondered if Moore was sacked as he might have avoided relegation .
Given that Johnson was supposed to be concerned over falling gates, he must surely have seen that they would fall further with this appointment ?

When Barnes took over he said he wanted consitency, well he has achieved that, albeit at losing. One more defeat should see him returning to celebrity come dancing.Mcateer will replace him and he will take us down to div 2.Anyway we can always go to Prenton Park and watch Liverpool reserves, what an insult to Rovers fans that is.
Best wishes frends

McAteer said in The Echo before the Carlisle game - “It is our job to pick the players up now.

“They have been through a tough time. A few of them are really low and now it is about the coaching staff and the senior pros having a voice to lift them.

“It is our job to show them to stay positive and things will change -- because we all know in football things can change within a week.” By saying this he is indicating that all was not well before. I really now believe that "Dumb & Dumber" have lost the dressing room. If that's the case then there is no way back. Its now up to PJ to admit he has made a monumental mistake, however I've got a nasty feeling that he won't do that & we are on a one way ticket to League 2

cynicism abounds!!! in all honesty yes PJ has made (more) ridiculous and ill thought out decisions and he has to rectify them asap, but to suggest it's all part of an evil plan to strip assets etc is taking it too far and overstating his intelligence.

we still got a long way to go before the season ends, i know things look very very bleak at the moment, but im hopeful we can turn things around enough to stay up and maybe even finish around 15th. One things for sure, there's gonna be no chance of achieving last seasons near miss again.

you cant blame barnes for that red card over the weekend.
nor can you blame him for the club being totally skint
is it his fault that a heap of his more talented players shipped off?
i doubt he'll be kept, but its a shame, really. its too bad that he wont be given enough time/ talent/ cash to take a team that was so close to promotion to the next level.
