Just when it looked as if Rovers would not only be sticking with the Manager who has overseen six straight defeats, but also the squad of Players that are currently failing to perform on the pitch, it appears from reports tonight that a new face is set to arrive at Prenton Park.

Sky Sports are reporting this evening that former Leeds United winger Seb Carole has put pen to paper on a short term deal with Tranmere, beleived to stretch to the start of the transfer window re-opening in January of next year.

Seb Carole

Seb Carole is Reportedly John Barnes's Latest Signing

The 27 year old Frenchman was released by Leeds United last during last season before spending some time at League Two side Darlington.  He then ended last season at one of his former Clubs Brighton and Hove Albion before becoming a free agent in the summer.

A lot of Rovers fans will argue that another defender should perhaps have been John Barnes's priority if he was to make a new signing, but the signing of Carole may now allow Alan Mahon to play the more central midfield role the fans think he is suited too at the expense of the currently underperforming Paul McLaren or even John Welsh.

Total Tranmere will bring you news of this signing when it is officially confirmed tomorrow.

Just hope he isnt a confidence player what with our team as it is and the fans the way they are at moment.
Still with bain and now Carole it hopefully can mix it up a bit and give some of the players a kick up the backside

Barnett was on the bench on Saturday.

He doesn't have to explain it I suppose no. I have a rough idea anyway as to why he hasn't featured do far.

my mistake over Barnett, but he has hardly featured this season, which given the lack of form shown by Shuker & Mahon begs the question, why is he not playing?

Like I say I have a theory on it which I can't really state on here but needless to say it was backed up again tonight at the Reserves game.

I am convinced that some supporters would get excited if we signed Steptoe and Son. When Carole was at Leeds he was slated by there supporters. Why ,oh why do we keep signing players who have failed big style? I woud be more excited if we were bringing players fron non league for a percentage of these might pay off

Savage got slated by his previous club, that worked out fine. If he was that bad, Leeds wouldn't of looked at him at all, maybe it just didn't work out there.

For christs sake, give the guy a chance - he's being written off before playing a game.

Two Leeds fans have taken the trouble to post on here and say he's no good. Give him a chance, but I fear the worst.

Got to say I was pleasantly surprised by Carole yesterday, with some of the feedback above I wasn't expecting much but whilst not a world beater, I thought he looked a good player.

Seemed good technically with decent movement, better than Mahon has been this season anyway.

Didn't really look like a goalscorer to me although you never know. Think he'll be a good solid left sided player who could really do with a genuine flyer-type flair player on the other side.

Bit hard to find at this level these are though.

i know.. I'm with you though i am in disbeleif that barnett can't get on the pitch.. Championship clubs nearly swiped him in summer now he can't get in to the 2nd worst team in league 1?

I don't think Barness makes enough changes after an awful performance.. he needs to really kick their @#$%& and make a point!

Roy Hodgson said the other day he was offered Sol Campbell but turned him down because he has a decent 19yr lad coming through there and Sol would have just hampered the lads progress. There was nothing benefiacial about blocking the lads progress sticking a dinosaur in there (obviously thats not a direct qoute lol just how i read it)

One of the most annoying things is Tranmere rely on selling players to stay afloat.

With the right guidance Charlie could be one of the best players we've seen here for ages, and he'd earn us a massive fee IMO, but his progress has been hampered, his confidence has prob took a blow losing out to John Welsh who can't pass a ball 5 yards.
