Throughout the season we will provide you with a platform to discuss each and every Rovers match whether it be the build-up to kick-off or post match analysis so here we bring you the Match Discussion Thread for Saturday afternoon's Coca Cola League One match away at Exeter City....
Exeter City v Tranmere R
Kick-Off 3.00pm at St James's Park
For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match anaylsis.
Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.
Tranmere Travel to Exeter City in Coca Cola League One on Saturday afternoon, so if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores in Coca-Cola League One as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

logan must return, i wouldnt be botherd if mahon was dropped, he`s not @rsed, i`d bring barnett in, i`d play bain and moore, i`d also bring the the new lad carroll in, he cant be any worse than what is already there, as for the young keeper i hope this sorry situation dosent destroy him

After the long journey to exeter we did see a small improvement on recent weeks, still not great however. Tranmere's away form is usually poor and a 2-1 away loss is probably an average result. The 1st goal Broomes' fault not Collister's so don't listen to barnes on that!

Yesterday we saw one team that will struggle to avoid relegation and another that will certainly be relegated.It was the weakness of Exeter that made us look marginally better than in other matches but we were still awful.
I felt sorry for Collister for any div 2 that thinks it can run on a rookie loan goalkeeper and a teenager is in cloud cuckoo land.Logan and Cresswell are o.k going forward but defensively both are vulnerable.Goodison and Broome often seemed to be on a different wave length rather than either on being particularly weak.Maclaren sprayed around some good passes but his overall contribution was poor.Welsh far too often was by passed and then seemed happy to spectate rather than try to get back.EBBS was possibly the best of a poor team so it was odd that he was taken off.Carol was dire and I suspect what was seen was the best he has to offer (another wasted wage).Moore tried unlike Ricketts who either is not fit or reflects the possibility that there is a schism in the dressing room.Shuker was quite lively when he came on and the quality of crosses improved as a consequence.
We could have got a point be then Exeter supporters coud claim that they should have had more goals.
Barnetts form must really have slumped if he is not good enough to get into this team.

totally agree, get johnson to give him a lift and hopefully they will go over a cliff.johnson has destroyed the club.The players brought in are like the merchandise in the shop,stuff you would not have for free.Get aldo back.

I don't think the sacking of John Barnes is going to help matters. It is up to the players to turn things around and give 100 per cent effort to the cause. The young 17 year old keeper was probably nervous against Exeter and will no doubt improve with experience and coaching. If you haven't got the money to bring in players get behind the ones you do have and encourage them not get on their backs which is often the case when results go against them.

The players have no respect for the manager so won't put 100% in. Why do they have no respect? Well they probably can't understand him and he has no tactical sense at all for a L1 team.
As for Collister yeh he's a great prospect but inexperienced, so the last thing he needs is an idiot of a manager blaming two goals upon him in his senior debut.
We have encouraged the players well I feel as fans, only the last 10 mins has protests started, yet they've gave us nothing back.
Tranmere Rovers is a mess.

The Dumb and Dumber thing has already been explained to the fans and there have been interviews today with both Craig Curran and Paul McLaren who both backed the Manager.

Well they can hardly say in an interview "The managers rubbish" while he's still employed, and they'll probably never officially criticise a manager at all, even after he's gone.

Yeh, so what they say to fans is not necasarilly what they'll say to each other.
They may me more chilled and talk a little more of there real thoughts to fans rather than media but their true opinion will stay to themselves.

If that's you're take on it then there's no problem with that but those who dislike Barnes and have done before he even started the job will shut out the information they don't like to hear!

No one wants him to fail here, he just simply isn't good enough as a manager, with every press conference he brings more embarrasment to Tranmere, his latest he said "we are not a big team, we are not a strong team, we are not a quick team, we have no indiviudals we can rely on." what message does that send out pre-match.

For me it's the signing of Luke Daniels on loan and sending MacAuley on loan. That apart I can't think of anything else positive, even though he's brought publicity to TRFC, it's hardly been good publicity, we're the laughing stock of the footballing world.

I wish people would stop going on about his press conferences.
All managers waffle on about nothing in them, the abuse Moore got when we lost a few games was the same following press conferences.
Regardless of what he says, his press conferences will get slated. There's literally nothing a manager who has lost all these games can say without being slated. There's enough to criticise on the pitch without having to resort to his announcements.

But no matter what, how can you justify criticising a 17 yr old keeper making his debut? If he's nothing good to say about Joe after that particular game then don't say anything about him? If he's got nothing positive to say then don't sya anything - he needs to send positive vibes out, the team have no confidence and the last thing they need to hear is that we're weak, slow, and have no players we can rely on.

I can't argue with that Mikey and I'm sure that nobody including me is insisting that Barnes doesn't have severe faults.
To criticise a young player (and then incidentally come out the next day and say he doesn't criticise individuals) can not be defended in any way.
