Les Parry completes his second signing of the January transfer window as he strengthens the Tranmere strike force with 18 year old Marvin Sordell from Championship side Watford on a month long loan deal......

Tranmere Rovers have today completed their second signing of the January transfer window as they moved to sign Watford striker Marvin Sordell on a one-month loan deal.
The 18-year old is a promising prospect at Vicarage Road, having risen through the youth ranks and made four appearances for the Hornets, making his debut earlier this season against Sheffield United in a 2-0 defeat.
In his short career so far, the tall centre forward has scored one goal, this coming in a 2-1 defeat to Leeds in the Carling Cup for Watford, though he hasn't played a first team game since August.

However, Sordell has been a regular for the Watford reserve side so far this season and has done enough to convince Tranmere manager Les Parry to sign the striker.
In his Monday morning press conference, Parry mentioned going to watch a Watford Reserve game on Wednesday to have a look at a player, with Sordell clearly the player he was following.
The former Rovers physio has been attempting to sign a striker all month, and with deals for Liverpool and Manchester United strikers falling through, he will be delighted to have finally secured this signing today.
Tranmere have been short of goals recently, netting only three goals in their last six games, whilst their strikers have missed several chances, so this could be an important signing for the Wirral club as they look to beat the drop.
With Sordell signing on an initial one-month loan deal, Tranmere do have the option to extend the deal should the striker impress.
Talking to the media today, Les Parry spoke of his delight at securing the signing, telling Tranmere World....
"Marvin is a very promising young striker and I'm delighted to have him here on loan. He's fast and strong and will be a good addition to our squad".
Sordell will be available for Tranmere's next match, a crucial game against Oldham at Prenton Park on Saturday.

If he comes in and does well we have him wrapped up til summer, if he doesn't, its only costing us for a month.

Every ball is a white ball............TRFC
though Parry is a little stingy with his subs unless the lad gets lucky and hits the back of the net while on for the last 4 minutes i dont think a month will get him into the team.
tho id hope he dropped Gornell and give the new lad a start

As you say at the beginning it makes a change to see that much going on in January at Rovers!!
