Parry Post-Leeds Game: "It Was a Comedy of Errors"

Following Tuesday night's disappointing 4-1 home defeat to a strong looking Leeds United side in Coca-Cola League One, Rovers Manager Les Parry was critical of his players' first half performance and in particular the manner in which the three first half goals and that the fourth in the second half were conceded.............

Tranmere Manager Les Parry was rightly critical of the first half performance of his side in the 4-1 home defeat to a strong looking Leeds United side in Coca-Cola League One on Tuesday evening and in particular the manner in which the Leeds goals were conceded.
Speaking to Tranmere Player after the game, Parry said.......
"I think the first half was our poorest performance since we've taken over. It's not as if Leeds scored good goals - a free kick, a penalty, a third poor goal and then the fourth was a boot over the top."
"We had a pop at the lads at half time and I think we were unfortunate to lose the second half. But the first half was a poor performance. It was a comedy of errors."

"I had a word with the referee at half time as I felt the first four free kicks were debatable, the one they got the goal from especially so. But he gave them and we have to deal with them."
"We'll be ok on Saturday, we're not bad at dealing with set backs. The lads will be in on Thursday and we'll go into Saturday with hopes of getting something out of the game. Bristol Rovers are a decent side so we've got to go there and play better than today to get anything."

Admit it Les you were beaten by the better team!
By saying "I think the first half was our poorest performance since we've taken over." Then he is pretty much admitting we were out-performed.
He's right about the referee though, first goal was never a free-kick in a million years.
Definitely a penalty though.

Leeds clearly deserved to win the game but what annoyed me was the lack of fight from too many of our team and the defence was just shocking.
We have now failed to keep a clean sheet in the past 5 games which is a big worry considering we dont score that many goals especially away from home.
He's an absolute quality player and should be in ahead of Broomes this Saturday (if fit)

I can see why they have struggled since xmas and if they play like that next season in poss the Champ they will be str8 back down. Don't jump on me and give me all this bitter bull! Hudds played far better stuff and alot of other teams have done recentely too. They played the long ball from the full backs EVERY SINGLE TIME! it was lame, had we not had the combined age of 1200 at centre half and yet still held our line right up on the half way line then maybe we wouldn't have had so much trouble. We gifted them everything. we we actually unlicky to find ourself 2-0 down. the 3rd we gifted them thanks to nobb ed Mclaren, however i did applaud the goal it was a top move. over the course of the game i thought their football was pretty lame however the worst defending iv seen all season and some top class finishing decided our fate.

We haven't conceeded a goal since Ash got injured which for me, speaks volumes about his ability.

dont understand are you saying we dont conceed with ash in the defence and broomes better and its sarcasim or is it just a mistake
because if we havent conceeded since ash got injured part from 5 in last 3 games why should he play ahead of broomes lol
