Parry Ponders: Les on Hartlepool Game and Goalkeepers

Ahead of tomorrow night's vital home game against fellow relegation strugglers Hartlepool United in Coca-Cola League One, Manager Les Parry was upbeat about Rovers' chances in the game but also revealed that he still sweating over the fitness of both of his goalkeepers.....

As Tranmere and Manager Les Parry prepare for a crucial home game in League One against Hartlepool United on Friday night, Les Parry gave his thoughts on the upcoming match and on his concerns surrounding the fitness of his two first team goalkeepers.....

Parry told Tranmere Player on Thursday...

"Friday nights are brilliant.  They have their own atmosphere and are different to Saturdays.  You can't explain why, but they are."

"Hopefully with it being a Friday and people aren't committing a whole day to the game we'll get a good turnout.  It's a massive game for us with Hartlepool being there or thereabouts."

"It's a bigger game than Leeds or Southampton. I know it's an old cliché, but when the crowd gets behind us it is like an extra man, so hopefully they'll turn up in their droves and be very vocal."

Speaking about his impending goalkeeper crisis, Parry added....

"Luke went over on his ankle yesterday and had to stop training.  He was a bit sore yesterday afternoon but hopefully he'll be OK." 

"Joe came off for the reserves yesterday.  He had a tight hamstring and Shaun Garnett decided to take him off straight away so he didn't aggravate anything.  We'll be looking at both of them today. 

"It's not a position you can mess with so if Luke isn't right today I'll go and get a keeper."
