By Total Tranmere
March 18 2010
Throughout the season we provide you with a platform to discuss each and every Rovers match whether it be the build-up to kick-off or post match analysis so here we bring you the Match Discussion Thread for Friday evening's Coca-Cola League One match at home to Hartlepool Utd as Tranmere look move further away from the relegation zone.......

Friday 19th March - Coca Cola League One
Tranmere R v Hartlepool Utd
Kick-Off 7.45pm at Prenton Park
For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match anaylsis.

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.
Tranmere of course host relegation rivals Hartlepool Utd in Coca-Cola League One on Friday evening in what is another vital game for Rovers, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Personally, I'd change the team from the Bristol Rovers draw. Being controversial, I'd drop McLaren and McCready, drop Ash back to centre-back and bring Mahon and Edds into midfield.

As for Les, his substitutions were awful, shuker hasn't had a good game for about two years yet he comes on instead of Mahon, why? Gornell starting instead of Sordell, why Les? He hasn't got it. We just don't look like scoring at all, Bas isn't match fit, Curran is Curran, tries hard and thats it. Ultra defensive midfield with no creativity, no surprise we have scored one goal in 3 games.
With Brighton away, Norwich at home and then Swindon away in our next three games I am struggling to find hope of survival. It is likely that we will be in the bottom four after those games and that could be it. Of course the result was not ideal but what hurt me most tonight was the performance, which was the worst I have seen this season.
I am worried, very worried.

Savage = Hoof and its no coincidence that since he came back our performances, especially tonight and at home to Leeds have seen more hoof than ever before.
Not a criticism of Bas himself (who I agree still looks unfit but can panic defences at times) but all we seem to do when he plays is hoof it.
Tonight was a terrible performance and people can say that yes we can still pick up points against Wycombe, Exeter and Stockport but will we?
Already this season we have lost at home to struggling Oldham and Stockport and away at Exeter although a home win over Southampton counters those thoughts.
We could be back in the relegation zone tomorrow night which psychologically is not ideal ahead of a number of important games.

I said it after the Leeds game that I didn't think we were good enough and last night proved we aren't. I don't really know where to start because the majority of the team were pathetic to say the least. I would like to single out Cresswell who for me had a good game but the rest forget about it.
Can somebody please explain to me why he picks Paul McLaren week in week out. He is absolutely useless and has actually cost us in the last 2 home games. First against leeds for the penalty and being caught in possession and then that miss last night. He is way out of his depth and i think it would be best if we just paid him off at the end of the season and let him go. He isn't the only one but at least most of the other dross will be out of contract at the end of the season.
Deadly Submarine is right about Savage, but what I can't understand is that it's not his strength and surely Parry knows that so why do it. The game last night was crying out for a bit of creativity so why did Mahon remain on the bench. The last few games when he has come on, he has created something and his passing is far superior to anyone else on the team.
The truth is that we are simply not good enough. We have players who aren't good enough and who don't care about the club, a physio as manager who is trying his best, a chairman who obviously doesn't give a **** and a depleting fanbase. I'm sorry top be so bleak, but it's hard to be positive after that last night. I think were going down and to be honest we deserve to.
Les must not be manager next season - he's our physio. The fact our physio is our manager symbolises what a pathetic season this has been.
Les has done well to pick up the pieces from Dumb and Dumber but he's not a manager and he isn't willing to make decisions - lack of substitutions, Curran playing every week, persisting with Broomes over McCready for so long etc.
If we stay up it will go down to the last game of the season, we don't have the ability to pull ourselves away with a string of wins.
The reason last night was so annoying was the apparent lack of effort, nobody playing for the shirt, no urgency. I just can't see us gettint the required wins, we may scrape a few nil nil's but that won't be enough. in my opinion we have to win one of Norwich or Brighton, and I can't see it all.
We were truly awful the system we play is not getting the best out of a limited squad. There seemed no pride passion effort and most of all ability last nite a very worrying time at the moment as league 2 beckons.
