We really could win this. Their home form is poor and confidence will be high for us after some decent results on the road and some good additions to the squad in the last few days.

I predicted 1-1 on my preview, but I'd be tempted to stick my neck out and say we could sneak a win

After this weeks signings I reckon at least a draw but for the purposes of good luck I'm predicting a defeat on the Prediction in the hope I'm wrong as usual!

Were then looking at walsall a wycombe h exeter h. That's were we decide our fate right there. But we need some kind of return from the next few still because we all know rovers are going to make hard work of an easy run in

listened to it we are awful. Game over, looks like we are dead and buried. More chance of me going on and scoring two goals, formation is wrong, we look doomed.

Uv been on a downer all season ricci but I. Gotta agree it really is beginning to look bleak.

After these difficult games were talking of we have have walsall away we are good at the bescot, wycombe an exeter at HOME, and let's be grateful we have the 2nd easiest game in division for our final game. Let's get thru a rough fortnight and try and keep spirits up for the final push. We know things look bad, but moaning and sulking brings nothing positive

I agree and I am positive during matches as I don't see the point in booing the players during the game or anything like that, but I am fed up with never scoring any goals, or even creating like today.

I know Les said it isn't going to be pretty but It isn't even effective. He has got to change something, for me he is showing he just hasn't got what it takes to be a manager.

Robinson sent off, you just couldn't make this up, our supposed saviour is now banned for three games. Just unreal.

its ok being positive but more realistic with the games we have left we are going down.

We have scored 9 goals away from home all season we have got norwich swindon colchester and millwall all to come.
The system is not working and too make it worse we have 3 defensive midfielders when we need to be creating and scoring, yet another red card and 3 game ban wont help our cause.

Lol forgive me for not being sympathetic, but do you think southend aren't picking out their hardest games and crying on their forums? We could still finish like 15th for The main reason they are as bad as us. I promise you Il be as Devo'd as anyone if we drop.. it could be the beginning of the end for our football club. But giving up on them before its over isn't happening. Not by me.

If you went today Il understand ur mood because its always harder swallowing defeat when u had to watch the rubbish but hopefully we can save ourselves I rememer MK away we've done it before. Cross ur fingers lads

I suspect that you did not go to the game. It was totally dire.Selection,tactics ,performance and effort could only be described as dreadful.
Balanced Brighton suppoters were descibing Rovers as the worst team they have seren this season and it was hard to argue with that judgement.

Why was Broome playing at Right back, he was lost.Gordan looked poor/raw. Mclaren was his usual self. It is often claimed that his distribution is good but it there was no evidence of that.From the outset the midfield sat back and let Brighton play the ball around without challenge .Today ash Taylor looked off the pace but at least he tried.Robinson had little of the ball but that was not surprising as everything was long ball up to Savage.
I know that Savage is something of a cult figure with some Rovers fans but in this game not only did he not threaten their goal but his first touch was dreadful and except from corners it was a struggle to recall any occasion when he was in the Brighton penalty area.Performance aside I really do wonder whether Savages place in the team leads to Rovers changing their tactics and trying to launch everthing route one.The game was calling out for someone who could get to the byeline and cross yet Shuker just warmed the bench.Similarly the midfield was so bad that there was every justification for throwing Mahon on but again he was ignored.
The sending off was a little harsh but somehow it marked what I think was a day that could well define the rest of our season.
I do not blame Parry.He has limitations but the situation stems from the mad decision of PJ. We looked like a team that not only deserve to be relegated but who seem to share the same view of themselves.Some like Curran use petulance and moaning as a substitute for effort.The one player to come off with any credit was Goodison.He was superb not only defending but in the last 30 mins was the most effective player going forward.
Football is odd we could beat Norwich but on todays evidence we are even more likely to lose to Wycombe,Exeter and Stockport

Sounds like the new lad Gordon struggled today, Zoom is back next week so maybe that was a wage wasted. The performance you described devonexile sounds just like last week's. When a team starts to show a lack of fight it becomes worrying.

Even though Southend lost they are fighting, Exeter are on a decent little run, Gillingham drew with 10 men. All showing fight apart from us.

Yeah beating Southampton doesn't show fight does it?

FFS we've had a bad fornight but I'm glad none of you are manager, you'd tell the players to give up 'cause we're already down or something!

It doesn't look good admitedly but we can't give up now.

We've come so far in the last 4 months and we very much have a real chance. First of all remember we have that vital game in hand with Brentford. They should be safe by then so a real possability to get something their if we want it more than them.

Next weekend we have a difficult fixture versus Norwich but, like Southampton theirs no reason we can't put up a fight and get something. Exeter have an equally tough fixture versus Colchester who will need to win to try and cement their place in the play-offs. On the other hand Southend play Yeovil at home, a Yeovil side who have lost their last two, and never played this weekend so will be looking to get themselves back on track. Hartlepool are away to Orient.

On Easter Monday Exeter and Southend are away to Brentford and Gillingham respectively, Both the home teams their have a good home record. Hartlepool are home against Brighton, and seeing as Brighton are playing Soton next Friday either team to win here will be useful, Brighton are by no means safe yet.

The weekend after we have a winnable fixture at Walsall whilst Sarfend are away at Leeds and Exeter at home to Orient.

The next 3 games are difficult for all of us.

Exeters last four games are against Us, Hartlepool, Swindon and Charlton. Their fixtures are just as difficult.

I like your optimism mikey even though i believe some of it is misplaced, brighton are well safe they are 9 points ahead of us with a far superior goal difference even though we have a game in hand we will not overtake them. We would need to get at least 15 points in our last 9 games presuming they pick up only 5 points in there last 8 games.

Yes we have a game in hand at brentford but this is a side who have lost only 2 games at home in the league this season. We have the 2nd worse goalscoring record in the league equal with stockport but slightly better than oldham weve scored 3 goals in the last 6 games.

I look at the squad and the tactics being employed (3 defensive midfielders) and realy cant see were the goals will come from to stay up.

I will support the team to the very end but fear the season will end in relegation.

We've just had a nightmare journey home (6 hours) and a not
much better one going so i've had plenty of time to think before posting my views....

Their first goal came the first time they even got out of their own half but apart from that we were shocking throughout.

I missed the tackle but from what I hear Robbo deserved to go but those who didn't go who are jumping on his back won't know that he actually did quite well and certainly his first touch looked good.

As for Gordon from Chelsea, I think Gordon Brown would have done better - he had an absolute shocker and all three goals went down his side including him gifting them the ball for the third goal. Hopefully it was just debut nerves.

Labidie looked really good when he came on but wasn't on for long enough (should have been on at half time I reckon).

As for the rest, Curran and Savage were totally out of the game but I disagree with Devon Exile I think Broomes looked at least competent at right back although would still prefer Edds there.

Man of the Match was Daniels for three late saves that stopped it being six but this hoof tactic of recent weeks just isn't working

Just to add a positive from the game..Robinsons corners were superb and far better than anythin produced by anyone else this season.

I honestly think we can get a draw Friday if we put the right team out there, but I'm hoping like mikey touched on above that an abysmal fortnight will be matched by our fellow strugglers putting it in our own hands. Wycombe walsall exeter an stockport is going to decide it. I agree we are going to find them games very difficult but my point is that next week isn't crucial and we shouldn't get too disheartened. Our season begins April 10th. The lads need to forget everything that's gone before then, draw up a mini 7 game league and start a fresh

Sadly our tactics like the formation will almost certainly rmain the same for the rest of the season over use of the long ball and three defensive midfielders.The reuctance to make substitions and the selection of mclaren is totally baffling.

If we do lose the next 2 games we could be 4 or 5 points from safety if other results go against us and then the pressure will be massive in the remaining fixtures.The biggest problem is we do not score enough goals as our record throughout the whole season shows and the away form has been nothing short of pathetic all season.

Trying to end on a positive in that i can only hope tha norwich will be over confident on friday relax a bit as they are will clear at the top and we somehow sneak a draw.

Just watched the highlights of the game and agree that the third goal was poor goalkeeping although the chance should never have been gifted in the first place either.

Curran's shot in the first half looked better on the highlights than it appeared at the time (due to it being so far away from us) but that was the only real chance we had until the very end.
