Best news of the season so far behind Barnes been sacked. Hopefully he wont play for us again.

hes here for another season.

I dont think he will be missed as he cant score got no pace poor tackling set pieces are average at best and his passing ant that good

McLaren as been alright lately as those who go most games will know.

I actually think that him being out is a bad thing although it will mean Labidie continues to get a game.

Without McLaren (underated in my opinion) we don't seem to tick as well.

i just dont see what he does, i dont go the away games but go every home game and for me he contributes very little and plays that deep he stands on the toes of the centre halves.

in the holding role his height is useful for winning headers, his positioning is good and his passing is pretty good! Would also argue his set pieces arn't bad just the people on the end of them are not doing their bit. That said labadie/edds can step in.

If we do go down think he will be a very good player in league 2.

His set pieces are absolutely abysmal.

So predictable, just floats 'em in every time. Wish he'd learn to whip a ball for once.

I really cant see him being a very good player in league 2 if thats were we end up, he played there last season with bradford and didnt do much and he will be two years older.

I was going to construct a post on why McLaren is a good player and what he does, but I realised I can't really explain!

I understand he's done alright of late though, putting in more effort than he did under Barnes

The Bradford fans did not rate him as a good div 2 player

I thought he was underrated in his 1st spell at the club but this time he has been abysmal. It's no conincedence we hardly ever score from set pieces when he takes them. Hopefully the club will release him as I think his legs went whilst he was at Bradford as he was a good player before then.

Labadie, Edds and Welsh is a better midfield 3 although I would prefer Les to wake up and play 4-4-2 but that's not going to happen!

i dont rate him as a player either this season, but i am willing to defend him if you look at the players we have had that have replaced him since he left we have had jenno kay they are a better quality of players than him so he wont look as good thats just my opinion maybe he has just become a poor player

I have never rated McLaren in both his spells at the club. He does a good job at not doing much but occasionally putting in a good set piece and claiming all the glory. He has also been found out because there is no one to do all the work for him anymore like jenno did during his last spell here.

I have to set I was absolutely mortified when we signed him in the summer and could not understand the logic other than the fact that barnes realised he was voted player of the season in his last season here (god knows why!!) and thought it would win the fans over.

I hope whoever comes in seriously looks at him whichever league were in and pays him off because he's simply not good enough. Although i'm not trying to justify his behaviour, is it any wonder that Barnett has seen his bum when he sees McLaren getting picked week in week out.

I though last time he was an excellent team player, fair comment tho that the players around him have changed and in that the job he's been asked to do.

Good news. He is abysmal, very ineffective.
