After Tranmere ensured they avoided relegation from League One going into the final match of the season next Saturday, Rovers Manager Les Parry was delighte with the performance of every one of his players in the 2-0 win over Millwall on Saturday afternoon....

Parry told Tranmere Player......

"Every last one of them did us proud, it was a great performance.  I don't know how Ian does it, I'd be physically sick if I had to take a penalty in that situation.  It was a good time to score, and we were execting them to come out at us in the second half so it was our aim to nullify that."

"All in all I thought it was a victory only one side was going to get and deserved.  I wasn't interested in scores from elsewhere, all we could do was win our game.  If we win next week it gives us 51 points and if you go down with 51 points you're really unfortunate."

"I thought we started the first half really well but that didn't last very long and they pinned us back for 15 minutes.  But we finished the half the stronger and in the second half I felt a few of our players who had just done ok in the first  half started to get involved and have an affect on the game."

"The lads were really up for today. It's a different game next week but we'll be taking a big crowd there so hopefully they'll lift us again. The crowd today were absolutely brilliant."
