Tranmere Rovers play Stockport County away in arguably their biggest game for years this Saturday afternoon, and for all the latest news and match updates, and all the pre, during and post-match discussion, don't forget to check out our Match Discussion thread............

Article Header - Match Discussion

Saturday 8th May - Coca Cola League One

Stockport C  v Tranmere R

Kick-Off 3.00pm at Edgeley Park

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match anaylsis.

Stadium - Stockport County

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.

Tranmere of course travel to Stockport County in Coca-Cola League One on Saturday afternoon in what is arguably their biggest game for years, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Lets face if we cannot win this game then we deservee to go down. Given Stockports state it is hard to think of an easier game.
I recognise that Les has done a good short term job but it would be fustrating if under his regime we record 2 losses to Stockport together with the home performances against Wycombe,Oldham and Hartlepool.
With awin I feel that we will make it at the expense of Hartlepool

one of my main worries for the game tomorrow ,is the state of Stockports pitch its a disgrace. And with all the rain we have had lately will be hard going for our lads, but fingers toes and everything else crossed we will win tomorrow.

Thankyou Wycombe. (Sm152)

We made a slow start but once Goody got the goal we did a professional job.

I'm pleased ITM got one as he's been oustanding this season.

There was a mass pitch invasion at the end and the players went straight off so we didn't get a chance to celebrate with them unfortunately. We waited but they didn't come back out, I suspect on the orders of the police.

Some of our numpties broke the crossbar which was bloody stupid. The club should pay for it as a gesture of good will to Stockport.

Fantastic result and a great day out..

I phoned Stockport FC yesterday morning and managed to get a ticket, all be it in the main stand with the home fans, Block D Row P seat 50 and to be fair I had a good afternoon with the local fans who were very knowledgable about footie and shared their problems with me..PJ is a hero compared to the idiots running Stockport...

Even though there were lots of empty seats in the home section, they were not selling any on the day, good job I had one to collect..

As for the match, well what can we say...lets get a Jack Russell as a mascot...

Poor pitch and a team made up of loan players and youth team was what the SWA faced and we did everything needed..

Fantastic to be in a seat where I could watch all the SWA in stand behind goal and opposite me..just I shame I had to limit my celebrations, well I did for the firts 2 goals, as the third went in, those around me actually joined in and wished us well..

To sum it up, we did it by skin of our teeth, just hope we don't get another numpty manager who makes too many errors before Chrimbo and leaves us in mire again..

Just got back. What an absolute belter of a day. Fans were fantastic, players were superb. We out played them and thoroughly deserved the win, and to stay up is fantastic.

To all you negative @#$%&, I @#$%& told you we'd stay up!

Joss may well be back permanentlywinking smiley

Stockport were shocking today but we did what we had to and that's fine by me!

Man of the Match for me was Labidie!

By the way Tranmere have offered to pay for the crossbar/goal immediately after the game.

Where did you hear that? would be made up if its true.

Anything on Mahon - surely he's not oing to sit on the bench for another 2 seasons.

When Mahon got back on the players coach he said "see you next season lads". Hopefully he'll be more of a performer for us next year, I'm sure he will be.

For me, man of the match is something tough to pick. Joss was quality, but Ash Taylor, Zoum, Broomes and Ian Thomas-Moore were also awesome.

A fantasic result just what was needed and with a bit of help we managed to stay up which i admit i thought we wouldnt do but credit were its due a very good effort by all concerned to keep us up especially the management team.

As for the game itself they were dire besides a couple of players and i couldnt see them scoring just a case of we get a goal to settle us down.

I would be delighted if we could get joss on a permanent deal or even a season long loan as i think hes a really good player at this level
