Eugene Dadi potentially coming back? What are your thoughts on that. From what I've seen he's scored some decent goals in the A League and I don't think he'd be too bad a signing here. Plenty of experience anyway.

I'm not really sure, obviously he's a bit of a cult hero but age really isn't on his side is it? However he would be able to suggest some decent kit designs...

he's 37 and wanted to retire a few weeks ago...
have we really got that desperate that people can phone us up and say il play if your desperate...

Anybody know who this third striker is? Jon Macken? I know that Rotherham and Bradford have offered deals to Macken, so he mustn't be that expensive?

Also, this gives the strongest indication yet that Thomas-Moore is on his way out, does it not?

I don't believe it says anything about Thomas-Moore leaving. Les never went after Dadi, Dadi came after us, so Les never bargained on looking at him. He wants these other two lads and that's why he's speaking to them. He realises we're desperately short upfront and is trying to address those striking issues.

For me, I think Ian will stay, and if this lad we bring in turns out to be a really good signing, then that could convince him to stay.

I hope ian does stay and whoever we bring in can convince him to stay but les should just tell dadi thanks but no thanks, interesting who the other stiker could be.

I think we should bring Dadi back! Looking at his performances in the A-League, he's still got it. He is by far and away the superstar of that league, which is actually quite a competitve one!

Besides, he simply cannot be worse than Terry Gornell!

I've been trying to work out who this "established professional" could possibly be, then when I found out Kandol was officially released by Leeds on 4th August it all seemed to fit into place imo. It would make sense seeing as he's been around a fair amount of time and he is now looking for a new club and was linked here towards the end of last season

Now, are we in for a Rotherham player or was Ronnie after another of our depleted squad? If its the latter and its not ITM, then who could it be? Collister? and if its the former, could we be looking for a deal with Le Fondre? Although I don't see how he can be classed as totally "established"?

I believe the transfer request is a ploy by ITM to get an extension to his contract and i think if the club have any decency and respect for the bloke they will oblige but saying that i do think he will go unless he gets his extension, just hope the board doesn't call his bluff and tell him he can leave (for the right fee)

Agreed, I've said in other places that Tresor Kandol is a great fit for us, and a true class act! Hope it is Kandol.

the a league hmmm think the standard of football in the league is not that good a level and a 37 year old who only played ten games in the league to sign for us i really hope not.

hes a good player, but what position will he play ?? through the centre, either side of enoch or an impact sub. ?

Rejects like Joss Labadie you mean? I imagine most players are rejected by someone...Goody and Moore have been, Welsh etc. We don't have the money to buy players, and if we're buying them that generally means they've been rejected. Why can't people understand that we don't have the cash to buy these superstars you want

so when are we gonna get this money then!?

Have mentioned kandol on a number of occasions I think he would be the goalscorer we need I think that itm wants to go so we should let him if he wanted to stay why hand in a request? I also believe we should go 442 with Enoch and another striker maybe playing creswell on left of mid?

To me it sounds like someone who want to return to an area where he liked living, maybe he's looking for a 'pay as you play' deal, just to finish his playing career before settling down in the area?

Lets not shoot down ANOTHER possible new signing before they have a chance to prove themselves!

We no what dadi can offer and now it will be very little even if we give him a pay as you play deal it will be a waste of money, he is well past it for league one football.


He left us 5 years ago and has played 60 games in that time that says it all

how much are we paying Mahon and how many games has he playing in the last 5 years, and how many goals during that time?

As mentioned above he is playing to a simular standard to league one.

Mahon is our highest wage earner on £2000 per week. We couldn't afford to pay anyone else that much as well.

Totally agree! Everybody we get linked with seems to be slated right from the get go. The A-league is a similar standard to League One, and he is loved over there and is regarded as a superstar! Why not give him a chance, hey?

That Wellington Phoenix team includes Chris Greenacre and also Paul Ifil, the former Millwall player.

It also features Lochhead, Bertos and Paston, from he international squad of New Zealand and is managed by the national manager Ricky Herbert.

I believe the comparison to league 1 is a legitimate one.

Dadi, has scored 5 in 10 for them, which is a very good ratio, plus he must have assisted I feel, so you're looking at a player with League one credentials, who has helped his team "potentially", with a direct, indirect goal ratio of better than 1 in 2.

YES we should consider him, for his past popularity and retained skills.

Look at people like Teddy Sheringham, scoring for West Ham at 40, Tugay at 37 for Blackburn and Stewart Pearce, playing 3 times for England at 37.

Don't forget, Tranmere had Richard Jobson, who I believe was around 37 / 38 wasn't he and I seme to recall he wasnt half bad as a defensive player.

On the evidence I've seen, Dadi would be good for the club and good for moral of players and supporters.

If he wants to come back, Tranmere should give the idea more than a passing thought, MUCH more and should NOT be looking potantial gift horses in the mouth or outright refusing to give them a ride either.

At least they have someone that gives enough of a damn to call and ask. That says something about Tranmere in some ways, that someone wants to come in that way, rather than Les having to beg or borrow, or worse, waste his time pootling out of the country, trying to get Northern Irish footballers that won't come, because their agent is a spackhead.

Plus Dadi knows Les and Goodison would help him settle back in as well, if he had problems with Les he could have not rung, which in effect has already cost him money to try and come back to Tranmere, not the other way round.

Albeit the cost of a call, but so what.

Looking at his form and the standard he's at, he would be good for the club and good the confidence and development of the younger players, like Gornell, Jennings and Mackreth.

I don't really see this as a lose, lose situation, unless he got seriously injured.

Get him back I say. It's an unexpected bonus. Maybe Les could also use the money for Owens, to get Ifil as well, or snare back Greeacre perhaps.

Who is Brown?

Kayleden Brown, a striker from West Brom. We've tentativly agreed to a loan deal with him, and it will be sorted later in the week when he gets back from Wales U21 duty!

Brown is an eighteen year old playing at under 21 level, seen him a couple of years ago and did nt think much of him so dont get too excited !

What's happened to the Hal Robson-Kanu link? has that gone dead? because he's supposed to be a striker and he wasn't mentioned in the latest report from Parry about bringing in strikers

Looks like the Wales U21 striker that Parry is after was Brown, not Hal Robson-Kanu mate

But it was Parry who in a radio interview said that he was looking to sign Robson Kanu so it would be odd if he got the name wrong. Robson Kanu looked the best prospect and played as a winger when on loan to Swindon.

Brown would be nothing like as enticing a signing for he would fall into the same category as players like Darville,i.e untried and more likely to be inadequate than adequate.you can have afew players of that sort but they are now the core of our squad.

As for Dadi I would be disappointed if we signed him. If he was not good enough for Lincoln why would he be worthwhile here. It would make far more sense to give Moore an extension or go for Macken.

At present I have no confidence that we will aquire any player that will represent a strengthening rather than mearly an increase in the squad.If it is Dadi for Moore then it continues the cycle of decline and the continuation of straegy that if it is cheap enough it is good enough

Parry NEVER mentioned his name, it was only pure speculation that he'd be the one to come in after Parry said we are close to sealing a deal for an U21 Wales striker. On this occasion, we got our name wrong.

If you had Rooney here he would not score.

Kandol has some discipline issues and would need careful handling, but I remember him scoring both goals for Millwall in a very one-sided 2-0 victory for them at Prenton Park a couple of years ago.

Getting Dadi back on a short-term deal while we see what he can still do seems reasonable . Signing him up on a permanent contract straight away would risk having another Mahon on the books and we can't afford that.
