Copyright Historical Football Kits and reproduced by kind permission.

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match anaylsis.

Stadium - Dagenham

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.

Tranmere of course travel to Essex to face newly promoted Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday afternoon, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game onthis thread where possible but these details are updated also on our Twitter Page throughout the game so if you're not following us already why not do so at www.twitter.com/totaltranmere.

2-0 for me.

I think they are good for a couple against Dagenham and because considering the way they played against Wallsall and Huddersield, I think in away matches Dagenham can be 2-0, teams like Walsall, Yeovil, Hartlepool etc etc, are 1-0 potential away victories and obviously against harder teams, grind out 0-0, possibly sneak a 1-0.

If Tranmere can't get 2 against Dagenham, it's going to make it mighty hard to win away games, against even teams that finished in the bottom 6 safe teams last season.

A 2-1 win.
If we can't beat Dag 'n' Red, even away, we don't stand a chance of anything in this league.
Not to be disrespectful to the opposition, but teams like the Rovers shouldn't have a problem grinding out a win against teams like Dagenham and Red.

Does this mean Moore is on his way or is he injured. Seems odd to let terry go when we are also loosing Moore

Les Parry you are a disgrace, out of your depth completely. Just please go. I mean Fraughan playing in a front 3? Why the hell no change in formation when we are 1-0 down? Bring Mcgurk on or something.

He is making Barnes look good, the pre season was a shambles and the season has been a shambles so far. Oh great we have Peterboro as well next week. We are going to be bottom for ages.

LES OUT!!

As soon as he brings two strikers on we score, not rocket is it Les? Too late!

From hero in may to zero by end of august. He certainly is making Barnes look good. The thing is, I like Les and when he took this job on full term I knew it could end in tears.
We shouldn't be losing 2-1 to teams like this.

I'm gonna have the 'ump all night at work now!

Can't believe we got a draw out of that, he was forced into a change and look what happened. He would not have changed it if Ladabie had not been injured.

Time to change the formation Les. We scored two when you were FORCED into it. What worries me is the fact that he didn't change it much earlier. I still feel he has to go.

Les should stay. Frankly, what would getting rid of him now achieve. NOTHING. Get that straight.

Yes it wasn't the right result, but look at it from a positive angle.

Showunmi, now has 2 in 2 and the team showed resillience to get back into it, plus they got 2 away, when they only scored more than one in an away match, on two occasions last season.

Tranmere could have ben disrupted early on by the formation change because McClaren got injured. Plus I'm not happy that Moore wasn't playing. That would have had some bearing on things.

Plus he still can't use people like Mahon, Broomes, Cathalina, (not fully), and Taylor

Plus points and down points, but for me, the plus points are encouraging, especially given how they were agaisnt Swansea, which was an unlucky result in fairness.

Les will undoubtedly have it tough now, as looks like no McClaren and no Labadie either, for undetermined time periods as yet.

What would someone new do? Come in, have no way of adding to the squad with the window almost done and get a squad, with 5 injuries and a semi-fit Dutch Antillean?

Les deserves until Christmas at least. He is not Barnes. Barnes was lucky to get that Wycombe win and the result against Gillingham was none too assured.

If Les wins against Accrington he'll hold that over Barnes as Barnes never won in the JPS.

Right now Les IS better than Barnes for me and I DON'T expect Tranmere to have 4-0 or 5-0 results in their first 11, like Barnes did.

The 2 main reasons for this result was

A: No Moore.

B: having to alter the formation about 2-3 times in the game, with injuries.

Yes the last formation change seemed positive, but I see positives here and I won't change my opinion yet.

I never said Les should go. I was just echoing the apparent feeling of some people on this board and the it's laughable that some people who want Les to go were hailing him as a saviour in May.
Les isn't Barnes and, I agree, he should be given until Christmas at the very least.

Ahh the fickle fan!

It's never over until it's over.

There is no way Les should go! Yes, he may get it wrong sometimes (a lot would argue too much), but what would sacking him now actually do to the situation?

For me, a point today was a marvellous result, and the matter in which we did it was so encouraging!

If you take into account all the relevant factors (away from home against a strong, gritty, newly-promoted club playing their first home game of the season...) this is actually a very good point on the very face of it. Once you then delve into the way in which we achieved it, then it becomes a magnificent point!

Have optimism.

There is a phrase on the programme this season, "Where there is faith, there is light and strength..."

Keep The Faith!

I wasn't real aiming the point at you. Apologies if it looked like that. I was responding to the prophet of doom or whatever he seems to be.

No offence to him, but it's hard not to feel slightly cantakerous, whenone or two people talk about Tranmere like the whole setup is poison.

We scored two when you were FORCED into it.

Actually the Labadie injury forced him into one subsitution, but he made two. And he COMPLETELY changed the shape of the team. Blanchard went from CM to CB. Zoom from CB to LB, Cress to LM. Fraughan and Welsh in CM, Akins RM and Enoch and McGurk up top.

Yes maybe he should of done it a bit earlier but never the less he made the changes and we scored twice, and got a point which I would have took pre-match. (I'd take a point from any away game, if we got a point at every away game we'd only need 10 home wins.)

Aside, thought we were better than last week (last saturday, not Tuesday.) We didn't really get out of second gear though until the 80th minute. Dagenham were rubbish. They had TWENTY ONE shots and scored twice.

Collister did well, made some good stops but needs to work on his kicking, and quickly. Darville was hit and miss, brilliant in parts shocking in others though overall one of his better games in my opinion. Goodison was good at the back, commanding as ever! Thought Bakayogo did very well at CB, and then when moved to LB he was very good too. Didn't think Cress had too good a game but his free-kick was nothing short of superb. Had that been in the PL they'd be talking about it all night. Blanchard was by far our best player IMO, MOTM by a long way. Both in CM and at CB he was really good, a great find by Les...

Labadie and McLaren really did't get into the game at all, felt sorry for Welsh, he did a lot of running and blocking and was good in the middle. Someone seriously needs to teach Enoch how to flick the ball on properly, the amount of potential attacks we lose from him flicking verticly up, is unbelievable. Brown and Fraughan on the wings were poor; Fraughny was much better at CM for the last 15 mins or whatever.

If we can repeat the effort and creativity in that last ten minutes we'll be fine this season, it's all about us having the consistency to do it.

You said it.! Teams like Rovers ? Who the hell are Rovers ?
Dagenham are not newcomers to promotion and have a betterset up all round.
R M side couldn't beat teams like that during his promotion push because he'd be a goal down and couldn't equalise
Nothing new , this is Tranmere.

I guess compared to Dagenham, Tranmere aren't really anyone special.

A disgraceful performance for 80 minutes and one of the worst I can remember away from home (on a par with Millwall last season until the final ten mins).

There was no shape, no effort and a pointless game plan of getting Collister to kick left for Enoch all the time leading to kicking errors and the ball going out of play.

Labidies's (who was awful all game) injury proved a blessing in the sense that the shape changed and the game went our way but the fact is that for it to 80 minutes to turn up was a disgrace.

Les needs to learn from this that 442 is the way forward (Cressa was effectivbe late on as a left winger with Zoom behind him) and he if doesn't learn then we will see just what if facing us under Les.

He should definitely not go anywhere and it was interesting to see him being slagged off before the game had even finished on here.

However, the squad we currently have looks poor and those goals lat on papered over a lot of cracks.

Worrying times indeed.

It is still early yet,we are still trying to shape the team, even top managers say you need 10 games to find your best team & the situation with ITM & McLaren(if it's true)must be unsettling for the whole team, give them time & stop whinging,be real supporters, you sound like Kopshites after they've lost a couple of games,we're a team with no money,it,s going to take time to build a team, with no money Les will be waiting for the transfer window to be close to closing, when players without a team will have to take whatever we can afford, give him a chance,he's trying his best with what he's got, which is virtually @#$%& all!!

Keep the faith is just that an act of hope against mounting reality. It was plain throughout the summer that PJ policy of setting a wage budget well below that of other clubs with euivalent support was ensuring that the cycle of squad decline would continue. There is ample evidence that we lost out in attempts to aquire any player that another club had an interest and in retaining those in whom others had an interest. There is little evidence that those we did recruit where in demand.
All that gave grounds for a bleak assessment of the season ahead and the league table affirms that.
As for the arguement it will all be o.k when Mahon, Taylor and Broomes return, well they were here last year and it was not alright.
It would take a very experinced manager to do well with the constraints that PJ has set and Les is not that.He is Tranmere through and through but limited.I always hoped that he would be temporary but equally I would be against replacing him for we have already seen that few would want the job(because of the strictures set for wages). In those circumstances Les at least offers a genuine concern for the club

These are very worrying times we were by all accounts outplayed by a team who will be relegation candidates with us this season, but at least we showed some fight to come back and get a point.

If the rumours about mclaren are true this sums up the current state of th club, im not a fan of his but we cannot afford to lose expereinced playeres like him or ITM and expect kids to come in without the inevitable consequences of relegation.

Ironically though, the Football League Show said the goal had ended a 16 month goal drought for him.

Clearly they were not adequately aware of what sort of player he is (Sm56).
