I think Hume would have fitted in very well in the 4-3-3 but getting him was always going to be ambitious. We'll just have to see what the next few hours bring

Early days. For clubs in our division its only permanant transfers that end today. The loan market reopens in a week or so, and we were never gonna sign Hume on a full transfer!

I've had a bit of news: a young centre-half named Jermaine Grandinson been at Prenton Park this morning to finalize a loan deal.

Never heard of him myself. Thoughts?

Ideally we could do with signing players with a bit more experience but increased numbers are a must with the injuries we have.

Two new signings. Apologies for slowness in updating this, computer going veeeerrrry slowly! But up now. News story elsewhere. Grandison sounds like a good prospect

Is there any more rumours that you are aware of Matt? Anything? Are your sources hearing anything, or are we going to have to settle for just the two new signings for now?

Biggest signing would be ITM signing his new contract. Given more inexperienced signings we need someone who has seen it all before.

agreed gazza the lack of experience in the squad is a big worry for me at the moment.

smileys with beerWell deadline day has arrived and if one goes back to the Millwall game on the first of May and check out the page(45) in the programme with a subliminal or hidden message with in it`s text *THERE IS SOMETHING BIG HAPPENING AT TRANMERE ROVERS WATCH THIS SPACE* hello I am still waiting times passing on and all we get is short term signing I am not going to knock any one in particular give them a chance to play first but we really could do with some longer term signing with a bit more experience in the squad one or two of these younger plays may be o.k but we seem to have a bag full of them and with Les signing strikers that seem to score as often as a blue moon I know it`s down to money or the lack of it but other teams with less gates than we have seem to sign players on longer contracts and in time have a more balance team with out the ins and outs we have and what we have signed up to now seems to be the last chance saloon for these players never first in the line are we.
Any lets hope we can start a run of wins starting tonight and keep it going to around May 8th 2011.

Ian Moore's signing is very important, but having looked at Mendy and Grandison I think they could be good. One plays mid one plays defence.

I would actually like to see what happens, if they keep Blanchard in the team and work the two new guys in

I'm guessing Blanchard added to the middle with Mendy, McClaren is injured so Welsh with those two, Grandison in the back to fill Blanchards role, next to Goodison.

The only thing then is, the team will have two black defenders with similar names, so that might confuse a few people.

I've also noticed what would happen if all the players wre available. The team could consist of Collister and 10 Black players. Cathalina, Broomes, Goodison, Brown, Mendy, Grandison, Bakayogo, Labadie, Showunmi, Akins.

This would certainly be a far cry from the days when Tranmere
were considered a racist club. Though I'd probably put Akins on the bench and Use Moore, so potentially 9 Black players in the first team, if everyone was fit.

I think some teams would be scared of Tranmere (Sm100).

Not particular what the colour of the skin is but if any of them are a new Pele/Eusabio and of the same standard of these two icons with Goodison as captain we would do well.(Sm134)
