As Rovers prepared to take on Peterborough United at Prenton Park last week, the game also provided Rovers fans with the first opportunity to buy the latest edition of the Tranmere Fanzine ‘Give Us an R', the second issue of this season so far.

The front cover which is in full colour as ever features top marksman so far Enoch Showumni along with ex-Rovers defender Ian Sharps during the away pre-season friendly game against Shrewsbury Town in July.  The inside of the front cover also features a picture montage from the Huddersfield and Walsall away games.

All three away games this season so far (not including yesterday's game at Yeovil Town), are featured in the regular away days write ups covering Walsall, Huddersfield and Dagenham and Redbridge whilst the regular contributions of the Doctor (Editorial), The Paddock Man and Total Tranmere's very own Deadly Submarine are in also featured once more.

Rovers Fan Paul Blackwell takes the hot seat for this edition in the ‘You Don't Have to be Mad -But it Helps' fan interview section and there are feature articles on both the pre-season friendly away at Chester and the history that has gone before with that particular fixture and also a write up on the Open Day held by the Club during the opening week of the season.

The usual Anorak Quiz of obscure angled photographs of away grounds for you to guess is accompanied by the ‘In Black and White' section which takes a look at Tranmere in the press and media - this edition looking at various pre-season predictions of the League One table which have varying assessments of Rovers' chances this season.

There are two further interesting articles including a rant about the Club's Official Coaches following problems on the way to the recent game at Huddersfield and a piece about the continuing way in which Sky Sports is ruining football in general - both of these are well worth a read in our opinion.

A few interesting snippets on the final page of this issue titled ‘Strange World of Football' are alongside the latest of ‘Yesterday's Heroes'  which this issue features a full colour photo of Neil McNab.

Priced at just £2.00, Give Us an R is is well worth a read and can be purchased at all Rovers games.  Dave can be found selling the mag outside the visitor's turnstiles at all away games and for home games is usually standing on the patch of wastegroung alongside the entrance to the Main Club Car Park (under the sign advertising the next three home matches at Prenton Park) so if you have never purchase it before why not give it a try?
