Tranmere Rovers re-sign Hungarian goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi from Liverpool

Tranmere Rovers have today re-signed Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi on an emergency loan deal, with the goalkeeper going straight into Rovers' side to take on Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

The Hungarian goalkeeper joins Rovers as cover for shot stopper Gunnar Nielsen, who will be out for up to six weeks with an arm injury, and goalkeeping player/coach Simon Miotto, who picked up an injury in training.

The 20-year old played five games on loan for Tranmere last season, joining at the back end of the season as cover for Luke Daniels, and helped Rovers to ten points in the league as they secured their League One status for another season.

Gulacsi looked coll, calm and comfortable in goal and many fans on Rovers messageboards had been calling for Tranmere boss Les Parry to sign the goalkeeper on a season long deal this year.

Boss Parry hinted that Tranmere were in the market for a goalkeeper yesterday after news broke that Nielsen would be out for a further six weeks, stating that it would be unfair to expect Joe Collister to continue to perform at such a high level when he's only 18-years old.

Yes he will be in my opinion. Les will probably use him, as he thinks Collister can't be expected to play as well as he has done, ad infinitum and will probably rest him a bit.

Gulasci is also available for Charlton.

Collister has been brilliant, but he is 18 and to expect good results every single week from him, is a little bit much and sooner or later the youthful exuberance of a lad with seemingly no fear and no worries, may turn to the realisation he's creating a level of potential expectation to live up to.

If he ended up having a 3 or 4 game purple patch it could really hamper Tranmeres season, so Gulasci will be good for the team.

He might even add a little more quality to Collisters game, just being around.

Wonder what Collsiters Hungarian is like? (Sm7)

I wasn't aware Danaiels was at Charlton. I thought he was on a season long loan at Bristol Rovers.

He (Daniels) was Matt but he got injured pre-season and they sent him back! He only signed for them today. Always thought Daniels was an excellent shot-stopper, games like Leeds could have been double figures if it wasn't for him!

Matt, isn't a purple patch when a team or individual is in great form?!

Yes it is. I know what I meant to mean at the time, I just wrote it slightly wrongly (Sm7)
