Rovers Extend Midfielder Loan Deal

Tranmere have today extended the loan of Derby County midfielder Arnaud Mendy for a further two months as Rovers' injury list continues to grow by the week.....
Tranmere Rovers have this morning announced that they have agreed an extended loan deal for Derby County midfielder Arnaud Mendy for a further two months after the player performed well, particularly in his opening couple of matches and at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night in the 1-0 win.
Mendy, who is 19, signed on loan for Rovers from the Pride Park Club a month ago on an initial one month agreement and has since made six appearances and scored once, his goal securing a much needed 1-0 win for Rovers over Peterborough United at Prenton Park.
Born in Eure in France, Arnaud signed for Derby County from Rouen in 2008 and made his debut for the Ram's first team last October. He also spent some time on loan at Grimsby Town during last season.
Speaking of the extended loan deal, Rovers ManagerLes Parry said....
“Arnaud did well for us in his first month so I’m pleased to be able to keep him at the Club. He’s big, strong and athletic, likes a tackle and is comfortable on the ball, so he’s a good player to keep hold of. I’d like to thank Derby manager Nigel Clough for allowing Arnaud to stay with us.”
Mendy will be available for Saturday’s home game against table-topping Brighton & Hove Albion which kicks off at 3.00pm.
