Les Post-Match: "We're Disappointed with a Draw"

Following Tranmere's well earned 1-1 home draw against table-topping Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon, Manager Les Parry admitted his side have come a long way in recent weeks.....

After his side fought back from a goal behind to ultimately dominate League One leaders Brighton and Hove Albion, as well being denied a blatant penalty late on in the game, Manager Les Parry admitted he and his players were almost disappointed to only get a draw from the game in the end.

Speaking to Tranmere Player, Parry said......

"I said to the lads after the game that it shows how far we've come when we come in after the game against a team that's pulling away at the top of the league and we're disappointed with a 1-1 result.

"We let them have possession, it didn't bother us when they had it in their first third. We practised that on Thursday with our reserves doing that.

"They've scored a good strike, and after that we lost our shape a little bit and the three good chances they had came from Ian Goodison trying to let it go out, John Welsh trying to dribble and Arnaud Mendy trying to bring the ball down.

"So at half time we wanted to get back to the way we were playing in the first half hour and we did that and more.

"I thought it was going to be one of those days we weren't going to score, especially when we weren't given the penalty.

"The lads are fighting over whose goal it is, I haven't got a clue. We'll have a look at the DVD. When I asked Scott he said 'I don't know but they've given it to me so I'm having it!'
