Player and Goal of the Month – September
By Deadly Submarine
October 3 2010
Back by popular demand after a spell of absence, Total Tranmere is pleased to bring you the first chance of this season to vote for your TRFC Player of the Month and this time we have added an extra poll meaning that each month, two awards will be handed out as voted for by you the readers….

After a month of mixed fortunes for Rovers during September, the time has come for us to re-introduce our monthly chance for you the readers to vote for your TRFC Player of the Month and in a new addition to the feature, your Goal of the Month also.
The month began with a superb and somewhat unexpected 1-0 home win for Rovers against one of League One’s early pace setters Peterborough United and their much higher paid players.
A goal from Arnaud Mendy just before half-time sealed the win after great work by Ryan Fraughan down the left.
A week later it was back down to earth (and Yeovil) with a bump for Les Parry’s side as they found themselves 3-0 down at Huish Park inside the opening 25 minutes before an improved second half performance and an Ian Thomas-Moore penalty late on made the score 3-1 at full-time to the Glovers.

Enoch Showumni in Action Against Charlton Athletic in mid-September
Next up was another testing home game against one of the pre-season favourites Charlton Athletic and after a mistake from on loan goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi handed the visitors an early lead, Rovers recovered to put in a good performance and earned a 1-1 draw thanks to Enoch Showunmi’s equaliser after Dale Jennings’s header had been palmed away.
It was more of the same away from home the following week though as Rovers again went 3-0 behind inside the opening half an hour of the game, this time away at Colchester and although, just like at Yeovil, Rovers won the second half 1-0 thanks to Enoch Showumni’s goal, it was looking ever more bleak for Rovers on the road.
That theory was slightly eased just a couple of days later as a midweek trip to Bristol Rovers saw a surprise 1-0 win and a much improved performance for Rovers thanks to young striker Dale Jenning’s fantastic first senior goal for the Club.
So after that round up of the month just gone which started and ended with decent wins for Rovers but involved a few large dips in the middle the time has come to vote and to help you with your vote, the summary of Rovers results and goalscorers is listed below as well as the name of the Player who you voted as Man of the Match through our post-match polls each week.
In addition there is also a link to the BBC Highlights of each game so that you can remind yourselves once again of all the goals during September......

I'm not 100% sure about Enoch though, as I think Cresswell would be the other main contender.
BEST GOAL: jenno vs bristol
enoch
