Parking
Parking in the area around the Stadium is difficult and most away fans have three different options if travelling to the game by car...
There is a plenty of City Centre parking available but this involves a walk of between 15 and 20 minutes to the Stadium and also makes getting away from Southampton difficult after the game due to traffic congestion with reports that it can take up to an hour to get away. City Centre parking costs around £5.00 on average.
Alternatively there is said to be plenty of parking in the Marina area which is a ten minute walk from the Stadium and is also better for exiting to the Motorway afterwards. Again there is around a £5.00 charge to park but the complex also has a Pub and food outlets available.
As anotehr option, there is a Park and Ride service which I used for our 2009/10 visit to St Mary’s and which seems a much more viable option.
To get to the Park and Ride, exit the M27 at Junction 8 and follow the signs for ‘Visitors Park and Ride Car Park’ which is opposite a Tesco Supermarket. Buses for Saturday games usually leave from 1.00pm onwards and take only around 15 minutes to get to the Stadium and after the game it is also fairly quick returning to the car park and as it is right by the Motorway it’s very quick for getting out. The Park and Ride facility also costs £5.00 per vehicle.
By Road
To the Stadium:
From the M3, take the A33 which heads straight into Southampton. When you reach the Junction on the A33 with the A3024 Northam Road, turn left onto it in the direction of Northam.
Turn right onto the B3038 Britannia Road which leads straight to the Stadium.
To the Park and Ride:
For the Park and Ride, exit the M3 at Junction 14 and head onto the M27 in an eastbound direction. Exit the M27 at Junction 8 and follow the signs for the ‘Visitors Park and Ride Car Park.
By Train
Southampton station is around a 30 minute walk from the Stadium but there is also a Bus service that runs from outside the station to the Stadium.

Around the Ground
The Stadium itself is in the middle of a rather industrial area and whilst there are Burger Vans outside the ground on match days, there is very little else in the vicinity and the Town Centre is a much better option for the usual food shops.
There is also the usual food options served inside the Stadium.
