Tranmere Rovers v Stockport County

Johnstone's Paint Trophy @ Prenton Park

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.

Stadium - Tranmere Rovers (Night)

Tranmere of course host Stockport County in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday evening, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game onthis thread where possible but these details are updated also on our Twitter Page throughout the game so if you're not following us already why not do so at www.twitter.com/totaltranmere.

Although Les has stated he wants to play his full strength side. I would like to see Jennings and Creswell rested with Zoom and Fraughan taking their place. I would also consider resting Goodison if he's carrying any kind of knock.

@gony, if you're ever struggling to find the score, you can always follow us on twitter where we have live text updates!

Sounded like a dour game tonight, very lifeless with few chances (until Fraughan came on) but great to go through on penalties - our first shoot out win for 19 years!!

Last time we reached the final of the Football League Trophy, we lost our first match 1-0 to Bolton, but still made the final (I think it was groups then). Hopefully a good omen! Bring on Bury!

Must admit, once it went to penalties I thought we were out again.

But, for the first time since the infamous ZDS game against Newcastle way back in 1991 we won a shoot-out! What is the world coming to? (Sm6)

As Matt suggested it was a poor game really with both teams having chances to seal it but not taking them.

I think Enoch was a big miss and I was disppointed with the performance of Morrow although it is still early days for him at the moment I'm sure.

No doubt for me If Enoch and Cresswell had featured things could have been a bit different.

A big morale boosting win, follow by a couple of injury related ommissions in a banana skin game. So not even the chance to maintain the same team, that beat Walsall for even 3-4 games straight.

Stupid injuries. They curse Tranmere this season worse than Black Witches.

It's a bit ironic that we have a physio as manager yet our side is incredibly injury prone!

I wonder if some of the reasons are that in many games we are stretched. Do teams at the lower end of tables get more injuries than those that dominate games?

Interesting!

That said, if you compared the number of injuries each team has, would the lower teams have more injures because they were stretched as you suggest, or would they just be a lower team because they have key players missing..?

part of the reason is that we have signed players with bad injury records mahon, mcgurk & morrow

we passed the ball around (which was good). as someone said we missed Enoch otherwise we would've had more shot.

I hope Enoch is fit for saturday, he is so vital for us.

I think we tried to hit them on the counter attack, just letting them pass the ball around, but just didn't get a chance to break through until Fraughan came on

It was good to see us win a penalty shoot out last one I saw was after the Newcastle draw 6 - 6 at full time but back to the Stockport game they could have won it in normal time but thanks to Peter Gulacsi who pulled off some good saves(Sm134) but I am still worried(Sm77) about the lack of firepower(Sm138)in front of goal could any body see what Sam Morrow brings to the team on that front
apart from making the numbers up I hope Les does not stick with him for long.
