As Rememberance Day approaches once again, Tranmere Rovers will be showing their support for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal at Saturday's home game against MK Dons with the Rovers team wearing shirts with printed Poppies on them which then be sold off for charity after the game......

Just as they have in recent seasons, Tranmere Rovers will once again be supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal ahead of Rememberance Sunday in a couple of weeks time but this time, in addition to the reduced admission prices for current and ex-service personnel for Saturday's home game against MK Dons, the Rovers players will also be wearing special shirts printed with a Poppy on them which will then be auctioned off for charity.

In honour of those servicemen and women who have given their lives for peace, the special shirts will be used for fundraising purposes with proceeds going towards The Royal British Legion’s poppy appeal.

Speaking of the initiative, Tranmere Chief Executive Mick Horton said:...

“Our players are extremely proud to be able to wear this special shirt and delighted to be able to help with the fundraising for such a worthwhile cause."

“We have joined forces with The Royal British Legion over the last few years to raise vital funds and are pleased to be able to recognise those who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces with these shirts.”

Following Saturday’s match, the shirts will be signed by each player and auctioned with proceeds going to the poppy appeal.  Further details on how to bid for one of the special shirts will appear on www.tranmererovers.co.uk and in future matchday programmes whilst Total Tranmere will bring you the details of when this information is available.

As well as the Poppy shirt initiative, the Club is also holding a ground collection at the MK Dons game this Saturday which kicks off at 3.00pm and has reduced admission for current and ex-servicemen and women to just £5.00. Tickets must be purchased in advance and admission for Seniors has also been cut to £5.00 and is cash on the turnstiles for all stands except the Main Stand and Family Paddock.

Current servicemen and women should present their ID cards at the Club Shop or Ticket Office to claim their discounted ticket.  Ex-servicemen and women should present their discharge papers for their discounted ticket.
