Last Chance to Purchase Rovers Poppy Shirts

The auction of the Poppy printed shirts worn last Saturday by the Tranmere Rovers Squad in the 4-2 home win over MK Dons is still going on and the final auction out of the four begins tomorrow (Saturday 6th November)....
Tranmere Rovers supporters still have the opportunity to bid on the special poppy shirts worn by the Rovers players in the 4-2 win over MK Dons last Saturday after auctions began on Wednesday night.
The shirts issued to the 16 outfield players are up for auction on eBay with the first group of four having started at 8pm on Wednesday night and the next two groups of four shirts beginning their period of sale on Thursday and Friday respectively.
The four auctions will ast for five days each with the final four shirts beginning tomorrow (Saturday 6th November) and all 16 shirts will be signed on the front by the player it was issued to.
The shirts worn by goalscorers Dale Jennings and Ian Thomas-Moore went on auction on Wednesday 3rd November and Thursday 4th November respectively.
Rovers wore the special shirts with a poppy printed on the chest to commemorate Remembrance Sunday at the home game against MK Dons last Saturday,30th October. In honour of those servicemen and women who have given their lives for peace, proceeds from the auctions will be donated to The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
Tranmere Chief Executive Mick Horton said:
“Our players were extremely proud to be able to wear this special shirt and delighted to be able to help with the fundraising for such a worthwhile cause.
“We have had a lot of interest in the shirts since Saturday’s game, especially as they are one off items and will make fantastic Christmas presents, so hopefully we can raise a significant amount for the Poppy Appeal.”
