By Deadly Submarine
November 22 2010
Tranmere Rovers are at home to Hartlepool Utd in NPower League One on Tuesday evening, so for all the latest news and match updates, and all the pre, during and post-match discussion, don't forget to check out our Match Discussion thread............

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.
Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.

Tranmere of course host Hartlepool United in League One on Tuesday evening so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.
Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game on this thread where possible but these details are updated also on our Twitter Page throughout the game so if you're not following us already why not do so at www.twitter.com/totaltranmere.

We created little of note a header from ITM early on straight at the keeper and a chance in the 2nd half but we seemed to lack any spark any invention and are tactics were too easy to defend against.
A very disappointing night, we need welsh enoch joss back quick as some of the replacements jst dont look goon enough
I knew it would be tough with all the injuries and suspensions and with any luck, things will pick up next time.
Enoch should be fit for the next league game as hopefully will Broomes be and Welsh will be back from his ban, plus Grandison should be okay too I think.
Roll on Huddersfield.
Another sour note was Notts County winning in the 88th minute. The gap would have been down to 5, but now it's 3.
The tactics were shocking against a Hartlepool team that grew in confidence as the game went on.
We were tactically naive. HOOFBALL!
We played into their hands.
Their goal summed it up.
Les is right is saying that the players out there last night are good enough, but they didn't perform. but that is only half the story, early second half we played some football on the deck and they couldn't cope, but it didn't last.
Why are we playing HOOFBALL, to a team full of under 6ft.
I couldn't believe it.
You could read our game plan after five minutes.
One or two players need not bother with putting a Rovers shirt on again after last nights debacle.
I know we had a few of our first choice players out but that last night was diabolical for professional football.
Who tells our players to Hoof it straight to the opposition? Who tells the goalie to kick to Akins every time, especially when he didn't win a header all night?
Why doesn't the ball get played quickly from a goalkeeper to a full back or Jenno, when we have a chance of a quick counter-attack?
Look at the stats, for a home game that is shocking!
In the last ten minutes Goodi stayed up front and we looked a threat.
Why do we play the negative tactics at home? What is Les scared of?
We played against Bury and Plymouth 4-4-2 and we looked a good team and we won both convincingly.
Change of formation and tactics against Notts Co. and we get a lucky win having been outplayed for the whole game.
Back to tonite. I said in another thread that I was not looking forward to this game after last seasons encounter.
Well, I feared the worst and got it.
That was one of the worst games, I have ever witnessed, from a Rovers outfit!
I hate this HOOFBALL and the sooner we bin it the better!
The service to the strikers was abysmal all night and we kept resorting to the long ball game with just moore up front it wasn't good to watch. I didn't understand why we didn't get it to Jenno more considering what he can do. Thought our midfield was dreadful in particular Mendy who continues to disappoint with every match and Akins who is consistently poor.
It was always going to be difficult with so many players out but once again shows the difficult job Les has with such substandard players under the first team.
Extremely disappointed but roll on next Tuesday.
Our midfield didn't have a clue, with the ball wizzing over their heads all the time!
Was Mendy out there? How bad is Akins (that's not just on last night showing). And Sam looked lost.
Hopefully Les will watch the DVD of that rubbish last night (I wouldn't) and go back to 4-4-2.
What the game has shown again is we have a usefull first choice eleven and a couple of players who can come in and do a job but the rest are not good enough.
Atkins is simply not good enough. Really want him to do well but just dont think he is up to it. Can fraughan do a job on the right side? I do think Fraughan has the potential to be a really good player.
Too many squad players in the team last night. Think that most of them can do a job slotting in when we are missing the odd player, but when we have to play alot of them together, the lack of experience shows and they go missing.
I first saw him in the pre season at Shrewsbury where I though that he was the worst right back I have ever seen, even I should have been picked ahead of him based on that performance.
However, as season has gone on he has improved every game. Really good last night. Won alot of headers considering he is not the tallest player.
I am surpsied you have praised Blancahrd Eddie. I thought he was awful last night. The back pass which Humphreys should have scored from summed him up. If that was a striker and not a full back up front for them it would have been 1-0 earlier. He gets in the way and just smacks the ball anywhere. His distribution is laughable, he has played ok in defensive mid but on that evidence he is no centre back.
We have not played well in the last two games, got the luck on saturday but didn't last night. With teams having games in hand last night was a reality check for anyone who thinks we are going to sail to mid table security, we are in for a long hard slog once again.
(By the way a special mention for Akins who was just laughable. The guy can't even control his own feet, he is always falling over and has no technique or anything about him whatsoever. He tries to be fair, but he really is useless)
It is not football, it is hoofball, with a team that has a majority under six feetand camped in our own half, that is why the total lack of shots is shocking and deplorable.
Les, bin the 4-3-3!
In the centre of exelance the lads are trained to pass the ball from the back yet evey goal kick was aimed at Atkins who if he had won any I would be suprised if he knew what to do with it, what has changed Les did nt do this last year, he also did nt suffer fools. Atkins, Mendy and a couple of others just dont make the grade, come on Les be your own man and dont compremise on quality,
Might go to Exeter though! when I see the team sheet.
However I am yet to see him produce anything that has made me think he will hold down a first team place but hopefully he can prove me wrong.
